Dancer Inspired Styles

i´m sorry,i made a mistake in my last post:nr.7 is svetlana zakharova, the next margot fonteyn ...

nr.1+2,two beautiful dancers:natalia dudinskaya and anna pavlova.
judging from their pictures ,they were graceful and beautiful dancers.i love vintage ballet costumes.
the balletts russes dancers for example wore customes that seem more extraordinary and imaginative to me than modern dance wear.i´ve saved several pictures of pavlova and karsavina on my computer, perhaps i´ll post some of them later.

then some rehearsal pictures.i love the clothes dancers wear during rehearsals:
tamara rojo
yuan yuan tan
polina semionova

nr.9 is by bruce monk
nr.10 by weiferd watts

it's no secret that I've been quite enthralled with ballet and dance inspired styles as of late... from tulle and lace to the minimal, draped and elegantly proportioned designs (I've been seeing lots of jersey and stretchy fabrics) that remind me of the dance studio, I've noticed quite a few things on the runways and in general recently that have really inspired me.

aquascutum has some fantastic tulle ballerina inspired things for a/w 2005. very prima ballerina...

Thanks somnambule, I'm so happy you liked it...for me it's always interesting to see what dancers wear in real life! Actually, I think that's where a lot of my fashion inspiration usually comes from...mostly dancers and dance teachers I knew years ago.

I agree, she's very elegant! I did a quick search and found the photo...the city is Buenos Aires. Here's the link:

All the images posted are lovely. I use to dance and love all the neat things you can do with dance warmups and such^_^

Here is my real-way version of the run-way styles posted...
I have this wrap sweater in black that I wear with jeans, a tank top, and black round toe flats that look like ballet slippers. (it also looks sheek thrown over a strapless tea-length dress in the summer)

pic nr. 2 :as blanche dubois in a streetcar named desire.i think the custome suits the role perfectly.i like the fact that she wore a blonde wig like vivien leigh in the film-adaption.
nr.3 : very modern and urban looking.not really my thing.it reminds me of the 80´s.could be from a balanchine-ballet.again i can´t remember where i found the picture .
