Dancer Inspired Styles

I'm loving the dance poses here as much as the clothes!:crush: The pics of keira are great! And I didn't realise it was her either.

These are pulled from art and commerce , so i'm not really sure what magazine they are from... Styled by anna christensen...

I love the shot with the tutu -- it looks very 'Yohji Yamamoto does... ballet.' The 3rd one is v. flamenco. Lovely.

I'm a dancer [note my sn] and i wore one of my warm up wrap tops over a tank to school one day and everyone thought i was so unique. hah

i love wearing tutus:ninja: (at dance of course)

Czilla... are you sure the tutu picture is Yohji? I thought it was Comme des Garcons. Especially if the pictures are recent.

Here are some more pics of dance inspired outfits and some pics that I found from movies with dancing in them:D

seraphelle, you called it. ^^ I didn't know who it was and sadly the pics were too small for me to read the sidebars... i just thought it looked like 'that type of designer does ballet.' I was just guessing at yohji, but many thanks for the id!

ah, centre stage... ^_^ thanks for the pics, pinky! the company is also a great movie for dance inspiration. I found the costumes/warmups in this movie to be very lovely in a minimal sort of way (my favourite way to do the ballerina thing)...

::swoons:: Yeah, i loved Altman's the Company too. It was such an elegant movie, and the blow by, snippet style he used to tell the characters' stories was so poignant. I loved Neve Campbell's character, and her relationship with the sous-chef.... The dancing was lovely to boot.

wonderful pictures, czilla and thanks for bringing the movies in pinky and utopia^_^, i really enjoyed the company:heart: and well, i enjoyed center stage too but could you stomach the final performance?? (or am i mixing this up with another film?)

here are two pictures from an editorial in recent german vogue (very fresh, arrived today:D)shot by arthur elgort, dancers from the new york city ballet

do you think maybe people will start wearing actual ballet slippers out? i am an ex dancer due to a knee injury i have stopped dancing but i continue to wear my ballet slippers out as i find them very comfortable.what do you girls think?

Kinda off-topic, but I feel the need to share anyway .... the Ballet Mistress from "The Company", Char is really Charthel Arthur playing herself. She was my teacher for about 6 years.

I used to dance and I think it's funny that people wear ballet slipper-inspired shoes (even I have some) for flats since flats are more comfortable... dance shoes are NOT comfortable, the ones I had... and I never even got en pointe so I didn't have toe shoes.

really? i always loved wearing them. guess i just loved dance, sad to give it up :(

I've seen it already - I knew a girl who wore her slippers (i.e. the ones with soft leather soles) out, regardless of the weather. I have a pair that I wear inside, but I think it might feel weird to wear them outside on the pavement... :ninja:

oh my :ninja: i would think they would get soggy

Oh  I love the pics from German Vogue, especially the second. Thanks Ms. Anna Karina! The shapes are extraordinary. The knee socks remind me of Irish dancing a bit, even.
