Dario Vitale - Designer, Creative Director of Versace

Ancora 2.0 in the making.
Remember the pre show interview from Ancora?
Elevated obnoxious and pretentious words as he was the new Karl Lagerfeld, then showing on the runway GG monogram rompers, platform loafers, GUCCI logo polyester grey hoodie and white sneakers...

I would also hide myself in shame if this was all I was capable of putting out for a brand like Versace…the out of context moody Meisel portraits are so wannabe J.W. for Loewe just stupidly done since in Loewe’s case it was slowly building a sort of atmosphere and mystique out of a brand which had none, Versace is very much not a blank page so this type of timid gestures mean absolutely nothing; We know Versace so well, we are just waiting for the gold Medusas to rear their head again. You can photograph them in sepia and hide behind all the first-year philosophy student rhetoric in the world but there’s no escaping that.

What could work for Versace would be something along the line of what Cadwallader did for Mugler: something tacky, glamorous, celeb-filled and just begging for attention. Make an event out of the clothes and give that type of client a reason to look in your direction. High design it wasn’t but it managed to sell “sexy” for today, you could argue that it was a very niche-audience but right now this doesn’t appeal to any audience, niche or otherwise.

If Donatella truly recommended or okayed him then she's definitely lost the plot. What are the chances that she did it all through gritted teeth and actually hates his guts?

Tisci is out, he is canceled from the industry due to the sexual assault alligations. Furthermore, he would not be able to handle the pressure linked to this extremely challenging position: dealing with the suits who demand greater turnover every year, the merchandise team pushing trash items, compromising with Prada management...he is simply unable and uncapable of dealing with all this "high fashion" crap anymore, he had been on the verge of a mental meltdown since he joined Burberry and at the moment, with the loss of his mother further aggravating his situation, there is a serious risk of witnessing again Mcqueen's story...so definitely not.

what even happened to that tisci case, i think he was about to release a collab before that. mission accomplished
