Dario Vitale - Designer, Creative Director of Versace

The issue with the Prada Group — historically, and perhaps still embedded in their company culture — is that once things are going well, they tend to get overconfident with new ventures. Beyond Prada and Miu Miu, nothing has ever really worked out for them.
Maybe the new generation (read: Lorenzo) can do better... but turning Versace around will take a lot.
And their Prada brand is not doing that well actually, -2 % for the half-year, but if we take into consideration the price tags increases between early 24 and now, in volumes it must represent a decrease of around -10% across the board.
They are glad Miu Miu has a momentum (+49%) but it probably took some of Prada's market share, cannibalising Prada's customers.
They need to work urgently on Prada's appeal because how long can Miu Miu sustain that growth and save the face of the whole group ? On a annual basis, Miu Miu will generate a revenue of 1,5/1,6 billion € in 2025, already bigger than Valentino or Versace. Can it really grow much more ?

This snippet from WWD's recent article on Prada Group's numbers explain everything:
The Versace Deal
In April, the group revealed the acquisition of Versace from Capri Holdings for an enterprise value of 1.25 billion euros and the transaction is expected to close in the second half of the year. For this reason, when asked for details about the future of the brand, Guerra demurred. “Versace is not our company, and therefore it’s very unusual to comment.”

Pressed for visibility on the closing, he said “we have an estimate that tells us that between September, October, November, we should be able to finish up and start. So at the beginning of 2026 we will be able to share much more information regarding what we’re going to do. I think that when we signed the agreement, we said that it will take time, which means that we need to do things carefully. It’s important not to kill the baby while you cure it. So we will go as fast as we can and as prudent as we can in terms of branding and identity positioning.”
Versace is still under Capri ownership with the transaction ending sometime in October or November. This means that Vitale was Capri's choice and that his debut will be done under their management. This also explains the pared-back format for Vitale's debut, especially if Prada decides to go in a different direction for 2026.

I'm just happy she's ok. Anyone knows how much she makes from the new deal ?

$0.00
She sold the entire company to Capri for $2.1 billion in 2018.
Prada is now paying $1.375 billion.
We don’t need to feel sorry for her — she sold it at the right time.
She lost her paid role as Creative Director, but I guess she’ll be fine
