I think that the runway show is on 18th this month

MEN’S ROOM: Paris is burning on the men’s wear front, with a slew of designers poised to join the next fashion week, from Jan. 20 to 23. Alexandre Plokhov, who shuttered his Cloak label in 2006 and did a three-year stint at Versace, said he plans to launch a signature collection and has rented a Paris gallery to unveil it. Another New York-based designer, Yigal Azrouël, is angling to show his men’s collection on a Paris runway. European names are also muscling onto the calendar, with iconic Left Bank brand Arnys plotting its first runway outing, and Thierry Mugler presenting the first men’s collection by Romain Kremer under the artistic direction of Nicola Formichetti. Finally, rumor has it Maison Martin Margiela is also mulling its first runway show for its men’s wear.

Does anybody know when Chanel Pre-Fall 2011 show takes place? I've seen the invitation already.

Wait, what's the "destination inspiration" for the pre-fall collection for Chanel for tomorrow?

I cant wait for HC as well

Rue Cambon. Oh Lord.
They've moved from Shanghai coast to a building. Fan-tastic!

Oh wait, The Byzantine Empire was for the Pirelli thing....sorry...

In times when streaming and social networks are progressively changing the face of society and, consequently, of fashion, there is still someone who opts to go back to the concept of the atelier, avoiding the web. After Tom Ford's fashion show in New York, which gathered few, select international editors to offer a much-awaited taste of his new womenswear collection, also one of the most prominent houses in fashion, Chanel, goes back to a more intimate mood.

Karl Lagerfeld, reportedly in mid-week, is about to bring together a few select guests - editors and label-lovers - at the atelier in Rue Cambon, Paris. In the very place where Mademoiselle Coco took fashion by storm, the Kaiser will showcase a demi-couture collection inspired by the complexity and richness of Byzantine mosaics and by the métiers d'art. No further detail was disclosed and no confirmation was given on the part of the house: the aura of mystery surrounding the event, we bet, will make expectations for Lagerfeld's new creations grow even further.

i don't know where i should post this things, so it's going to be like a private things? like tom ford did!

This is an interesting and big move on Karl's part because he made events even out of his pre-fall and cruise shows. The location and the setting are not the issue - to me what matters is when the pictures will be released, although I will miss the spectacle that KL usually provides. If designers start going the Tom Ford route when it comes intimate presentations, that rates a "whatever," and by the way Tisci did the intimate thing for HC, and when you think about it Versace and other designers have been gravitating towards intimate presentations for a while, I guess their PR people aren't as savvy as Givenchy's, Ford's and Chanel's. Anyhoo, presentations vs. runway shows is a "whatever," but if the release of pictures is delayed by more than a few days, then that is going to eventually backfire on them because I would be willing to be that the editors and publications are as invested in feeding that aspect of the beast since they have built up infrastructures to do just that.

IIRC Givenchy released pictures sooner rather than later when it came to their intimate presentation, although I think certain outlets got snippy about HQs from their sites being posted on other sites, so in the long-term I can see the Givenchy HC approach working but not necessarily the Tom Ford approach which, especially given how the collection actually looked, probably got more (positive) publicity than if he went the traditional route which was probably his plan all along.

I actually like the idea of the intimate atelier presentation for the pre-fall collection and as soon as we get a decent set of photos, I'm perfectly content.

The show will about to start now if they are following the schedule.
