Dazed & Confused March 2009 : Ash & Eliza by Mariano Vivanco

I guess it's similar to what i-D do when they put alternative covers on their MySpace..... this one is an alternative cover but not actually the real one....

I love it in Damon Albarn's song...
But this is looking so fake and attention wore... doesn't work for me

^^ It would have to be an alternative cover as High Street stores wouldn't be able to place the magazine front and centre on their racks.....although persoanlly it would look fine to me.B)

hopefully so:innocent:
i used to like Eliza when she just appeared at Select. and then all this hype started and this 'the new british anti-it coupe' stuff featuring Ash. this has become like a new obsession for all those cool kids of blogosphere. and to me it had really little sense. i like models for being good models, note another public obsession due to a quirky look. it feels really superficial.
are badasses still 'in'?:innocent:

who are these people? Maybe I'm a total square, but I'm not into models and don't know who is who, who is transgender, etc.

Either way, glad this is an alternate cover because it's so overt in a completely boring way. What is this supposed to be saying? This would have been interesting like two years ago but how many covers have wee seen like this now?

the really stupid thing is that they arent really badboys, they just put on some clothes and tattoos and pretend to be badass but really its just akward!

Maybe if they didn't look 12 then I could potentially buy it (bad boy image). But since they would look at home among 6th graders, the whole thing just makes me ill.

for some reason ash isn't nearly as sexy naked than what i thought he would be. :ninja:

gosh i would love this cover if he just had some pants on. or maybe it's the yellow undies that really kill it for me.

 Me too, I started to hear the song slowly after reading it word by word... but in the end to me it looks more like a charmless cover to quote Damon Albarn again :innocent:

I was looking forward to seeing that cover for real - if only to see where the stores would place it.

Though the UK newsstand is awash with barely concealed breasts on the front of magazines, and topless lasses inside newspapers, not to mention an ever-growing array of gay mags. A pair of goth-breasts and a boy's bum isn't going to make much of an impact. There's probably more interesting scenarios to be seen inside tattoo magazines.
