Demna Gvasalia - Designer, Creative Director of Gucci

If anything, Gucci needs to be talked about again—and in a positive way. I think it’s a calculated move; in a season full of debuts, trying to be at the center of the narrative would cost them too much. If they think they can regain relevance without a show, kudos to them.
The whole idea that part of the collection is available immediately only works when it’s compelling enough to create real urgency—or when the buzz generates an immediate, widespread halo effect around the brand. In this market, I wish them good luck achieving that. As for me, when it comes to Kering these days, it’s definitely a case of see first, then believe.

@Demna changes, once again, the cards on the table.

The designer will debut at @gucci on Tuesday, September 23rd at 7:00 p.m., closing the first day of @milanfashionweek.

So his journey in the brand will start with the spring summer 2026 collection, denying what he himself stated in the backstage of his last show for @balenciaga, meaning that he would wait for February.

Plans have obviously changed and confirmed by the official calendar of Milan Fashion Week, making Demna's debut one of the many anticipated.

Gucci and the Dance on the Edge
The Italian brand owned by French group Kering is losing money and making lose money to the group since a couple of years.
The year of ecstasy have fade away and now things are turning very serious as Kering never managed to diversify its business that is still heavily depending on Gucci.

The new CEO of the group De Meo, coming from a Renault he left in a profit warning too, is a marketing man.
So expect fireworks also because to gain his entire 2025 remuneration which is 28 million euro for 4 months (see Glitz) he needs to over deliver results in H2 25.

Is there a link between this target and the fact that now Demna will present the entire Gucci collection in September contradicting what he said one month ago candidly?

Will they push like crazy for entry prices Demna for Gucci to hope to fix the business and get their multi-million euro end of the year bonus? Or will they launch crazily expensive items to catch the HNWI instead?
Do they realize how exhausted is this brand and the people working for it?

Can an industrial system work to satisfy shareholders and with the carrot and the stick?
Maybe for a while, but will it last?

Tbh K-Pop idols and "ambassadors" suck 3/4 of this budget... good for them.
i know for lala lisa Celine had to pay one of the last times 1 million euro to fly her privately and her attending the Hedi show.

ancora 1 st show was because the location fees of all closure of stores and restaurants in the area and all activations around the city securities permits etc

Rumor has it that the upcoming new store staff uniforms will be in navy blue and not Demna black. Most notable will be an extreme minimal approach: no horsebit buckles on loafers both men and girls, and no horsebit or GG hardware on their bags this time. Instead, a colourless pressed “GUCCI” logo on the leathers will replace them. The salesgirls highly doubt the design is Demna’s vision but the corporate’s design team cutting costs. Another step back to obscurity by Gucci.

sounds like ANCORA staff uniforms rollout

it can never be demna because brands need a year or more to design & top management /cd agreed alignment to update & test staff store uniforms and produce all different sizes & quantities and make guidelines to be implemented word wide is not a 3 months project.

first thing what would change for stores with Demna vision would be packaging that's easier to roll out design and produce in weeks to be ready this september.

you would have michelle stores design and post michela store design and some ancora store design with mostly new updates store staff ancora design and important stores with demna packaging at least the 50 stores with the demna september drop

lol sounds messy just like gucci is

Colorless pressed « Gucci » logo on leather sounds like Frida’s bags during her last year to me…
We will see.
Ancora and the studio have designed enough products to fill the outlets for 3 years. So they needs to be confident with that to not have any discount for at least the 2 years of Demna.

Interesting…
I hope she is not trashing Alessandro to him ahaha.
I will always praise her FW2014 collection. If the bags are re-released, it’s a sign that history is giving me reasons to not get rid of my stuff! FW2014 and SS 2006 will stay on my wardrobe for ever!

its her daily yoga mantra trashing Alessandro , italian designers trashing each other is a national sport :-)

What is luxury about Gucci in 2025? The outrageous price point?

And when will these stingy trolls stop doing co-ed shows? Even some small as f independent labels doing mens/womens separately.
The whole industry confuses "expensive" and "luxury". Canvas or mere nylon bags have been elevated to the "luxury" level for way too long now, but we all know there are just cost-cutting tricks.

If I where Demna I would explore which non-monogrammed bags and models sold during Gucci Vault and start from there, to rebuilt a sense of heritage and luxury, and a continuity with Michele, which was their last succesful era.
Ancora have capitalized way too much on the Jackie and the Bamboo and there is too much unsold of those they don't look desirable anymore, time to phase them out for a while....

^^^The result of these brands catering and pandering to the outlet masses for almost a decade now; whom always associate/confuse “expensive" with “luxury”. Those Dior Men logo’d fabric bags are ugly cheap AF— looking like the trashbags that would come with the purchase of a Dior fragrance set at the local midrange department store in the 90s/2000s. But all the customer cares for these days is that prominent logo and the high pricepoint and they’re convinced it’s “luxury”. Demna is absolutely capable of bringing back a classic sense of luxury with his Gucci (…he’s shown he's very familiar with what understated and simplicity in luxe design is with his Balenciaga debut). …Whether he will— or more importantly, allowed to with Kering, is a different fate altogether.

Why is his beard trimmed shorter at the jaw vs where it’s longer near the cheek bones? He’s a mess lol

Looks like a bald patch. Baldness in men doesn’t just affect the crown of the head, unfortunately. Always find his cosplaying in that vile Oakley sunglasses and bland Under Armour dadcap as the average midwestern hetero dudebro is at once desperate and endearing.
