This is actually kind of sad, since it seems that the brand is slowly, but surely, closing down.
They haven't had a CEO since September, their boutique closed in April, collection sizes have gone down by 30%, prices by 60% and the only clothing they sell through their stockists seem to be windbreakers and strechy crap.
It's a shame, since they started so strong with an interesting debut collection, followed by a strong pré-collection. It from the second runway collection, when they went downhill.
Hopefully, if or when Nina Ricci revives, be it under Puig or otherwise, and hire a designer with a strong, but suitable vision.
P.S. I feel that the aesthetic of Botter's Ricci (clothing, marketing, image) is quite interesting and unique enough to make a good brand separate from both Botter and Ricci. It gives me "Dries Van Noten through the eyes of Phoebe Philo" vibes. It's just a matter of the one executing the ideas to drop the hats, learn how to make an actual dress and know how to dress feminine bodies.
