Designers Switching Houses & Moving to New Brands

Wasn't Kim Jones rumoured a few months ago for Burberry? (crossing my fingers I'm making this up)

There was something going on about that I remember but I don’t think Burberry would be willing to pay him seven figures at this point. Firstly that they don’t want to spend that much money on designer giving restructuring and secondly because Kim Jones has nothing to offer anymore neither in menswear and, after Fendi disaster, definitely not in womenswear. I’d bet they promote someone internally or hire number 2 from some other company.

Petty me is like "good- no one should be paying this man any figure to work in fashion", but then messy me would like to witness KJ and Burberry digging through newfound fashion lows together.

That’s my exact feeling and, for me, the relentless collaborations that he loves so much to do would work better for Burberry to 1) become more relevant and cater to their very large audience and 2) give opportunities to other brands/artists to play with the trench and check pattern.
