Designers Switching Houses & Moving to New Brands

Interested to see how the bally guy will go if he is in fact going to the house. At the mm6 show rosso said they have a new star designer but he wouldnt say who. Can u call simone bellotti a star designer? Hmm lets see

i loved simone's first two collections, but the third one, where he experimented with volumes, mostly felt like a series of failed attempts to me.

the dose of quirk he likes to inject at bally won’t work at jil sander, and he doesn’t seem particularly strong technically. so i'm not exactly sure what he has to offer there—i'm kind of dreading his jil sander debut but open to being pleasantly surprised.

Jonathan is already working at Dior by the sounds of it. Does this mean he will be debuting at Dior for Haute Couture in July?
According to well-placed industry sources, Mr Anderson and his team were in Dior headquarters on Avenue Montaigne three months ago. They also say that this collection will be the last from Maria Grazia Chiuri at Dior, though official press contacts noted that the designer is currently working on three future collections for the house and will be presenting a documentary to mark International Women’s Day on Saturday.

Umm...are we expecting a sudden transition from MGC to JWA in one season or are we expecting something smoother?
We could speculate:
- FW25 RTW being last conventional RTW show from MGC
- Cruise 2026 in Rome will be MGC last actual Dior show
- MGC departure announcement after the Cruise 2026

The real juicy speculations starts after the Cruise show however, MGC could be ghost designer for Couture FW25 (however presented by the design team), JWA announced right after the couture show and then first JWA official first show could be RTW SS26 (smoother transition). Another possibility: MGC departure announcement after PFW ends and JWA nominated right after with couture being first official show...something iconic a la Raf like back in 2012?
With Celine they went for a sudden shift, but dramatic Hedi was beyond that...

I believe they will announce it after the show in Kyoto, but before the show in Rome. JW has indeed been from Loewe for a bit from what I was told (people in his team) and is probably dedicating his time and energy to making a splash at couture in July.

Right, I forgot about the Kyoto show...so we could have:
- FW25 last actual PFW show
- PreFall 2025 in Kyoto (25 April)
- Departure announcement
- JWA announcement
- Crusie 2026 in Rome (27 May) :last actual show
- First JWA FW25 couture

I assume the prefall show is something that she already started working on and they did not want to waste it. If we remember, the Kyoto show was scheduled after the Rome show was already planned. So it could be maybe what she had planned and started working on for couture and she demanded to be allowed to show it or something.

Dior's collection timeline goes somewhat like this:
- Kyoto (PF'25)
- Rome (Cruise '26)
- Men's SS'26
- HC FW'25
- Women's SS'26

My theory:
The Kyoto and Rome collections will be signed under MGC with her departure being announced before the show in Rome, allowing her to have her emotional swan song. JWA's appointement will be announced in the days following the show. The men's SS'26 collection will be most likely be a studio affair, allowing JWA to have a splashy HC debut like Raf did.

With all the money in the world to create the biggest buzz in the moment, it is very logical to write a new chapter for the brand with an HC debut. Looking back at Raf's tenure, he had all the support at the beginning simply because of the debut having a fashion moment to refresh the dusty brand.

JWA is working on Dior Menswear atm so his debiut will be men’s SS 2026 in June.
I forgot about menswear. But he still must be working on haute couture too considering it's right after menswear. I wonder if he might shake it up and show some menswear during haute couture ?

It just raises even more for me the question of having MGC dragging that farewell tour longer.
Clearly, if they are so ready to move on that JWA is already working on collections for next spring, what’s the point of organizing destination shows for this.

They will probably want the JWA nomination to have an effect on Dior so I suspect that campaigns will come out this summer and they will probably push a new bag or something earlier.
Resort arrives in stores in November. So they are probably going to kill the collection anyway to have the JWA era in stores.
