That jacket is an interesting concept, you're right the idea has some similarities to Margiela's experimental aesthetic. Not sure how well that piece works from that picture alone though.

guess who just got these today...!

Was watching Rush Hour 2 today and in the begiining of the movie Chris Tucker is wearing a Chinese suit which has the same exact jacquard dragon print as the S/S 06 cropped jacquard dragon jacket. Is this a traditional common print in China?

you can kind of see it in these pics

^I got some at hotel venus a few weeks back. I don't know how much I'll wear them though.

yeah i used to have skinny braces that i got at 99x in the east village but it was nice to score the real dior ones. they don't seem as cheap as the other skinny braces floating around nyc. not to mention that they are italian leather.

hi guys/gals

just go back from paris.
what can i say, but I LOVE PARIS:heart:

well down to it, they have pretty much nothing from previous seasons except from f/w 05-06. at least that's what they told me at the store in Ave montaigne and the one in Rue Royale. either they where telling the truth or they didn't want to bother with me:lol:
oh and they have a white Duffle bag at Rue Royale, which i wanted when i saw the ad, but on closer inspection, it's too small to carry anything at all, and the leather is not so great. so yeah.

i ended up buying a suit, and a pair of those white shoes with black laces. they are so KEWL!!!

are you speaking of the white leather mini duffle bag from FW 05? if so did they have any of the other colors?

did they have these shoes at the store in paris? i have called every single place that carries dior in america and i just don't think they are here.

EDK, i'm talking about the gold duffle bag they were advertising on the website. didn't see any other color. only white.

levi, i vaguelly recall seeing those shoes in Ave Montaigne.
but i guess they didn't really grab my attention long enough for me to be certain.

BTW they all speak English there, and you get your tax deduction instant.

anybody know where to get Dior Homme en Seattle? I'm going next weekend.
Barney's New York in the downtown area. They have a few jeans (pastels and grey washes) a couple of jackets, ties, some shirts (casual and dress), a sweater or two, and a few blazers and suits. I was there a few days ago checking it out, the most have smaller or larger sizes left, they didn't have much in a 38. ;_;

Also, next door to Barney's at Butch Blum they have some Demeulemeester (clothes and shoes) and Jil Sander, if you're interested.

wait a minute... i'm an american living in paris, are you saying you can get tax deduction right at the Dior store? if so, what do they ask for? passport? plane ticket?

oh and by the way those converse look a likes are everywhere here, in 5 or 6 different colorways...i'm sure they'll be hitting the US anytime now..

yeah we've got the cons look alikes here in a few pastel colors but i wanted the plain white ones and according to the people at dior homme las vegas they will not be landing stateside at all. as far as tax refunds in paris go. you have to pay the tax when you shop in paris and when you leave you get some forms stamped at the airport and only when you're back in the states and you fill out the forms and mail them do you get the tax refunded. so as an american living in paris i think you're out of luck.
