Because people pay for it.

All this recent non collection-specific discussion here in Designers and Collections should probably be directed to the Dior Homme thread in Shop 'Til You Drop before the mods get frustrated and have to start moving stuff around. :(

lol i just happened to find this thread oh well thx i guess its demand

Did he try to return or issue a quality claim to the shop he bought the jacket at, because things like these should not under any circumstances happen, that's ridiculous...

he happened to be one of dior's top customers, so he had it exchanged promptly.

Why is Dior Homme sooo expensive?

dior homme is a luxury brand so it's certainly not cheap. however i really don't consider it that expensive either. now i'm not saying that it there aren't things that are wildly overpriced. but peice for piece dior for women is much more expensive. also other mens lines like ysl or carol christian poell are much more expensive. nobody forces you to buy dior but if you want to buy into the asthetic and buy into the lifestyle that dior homme represents then be prepared to pay the price that comes with it.

Ya i know but i meant like a belt is $600...no one is forcing one to buy it, but isnt that a little over priced just for the name- considering the fact that its just a plain studded belt. I can see pants and jackets, those are diff i guess

what belt is 600 dollars? the only belt that cost 600 or more was the chain belt. even the insanely studded ones from votc were only 400-500

ooh.....i guess is screwed up the price...even $300 for a studded belt...phew! lol but its kool

I think a lot of it is currently very, very overpriced. But I'd gladly pay the crazy retail for stuff from older collections. It's kinda funny, I feel like all the most expensive DH belts produced a while back are a lot more worth it than the crappy $200-$300 belts being sold now.

I have a question about the luster bee brooch. When you put it at your jeans/trousers or what so ever, does it leave a mark at the jeans that is clearly visible after you removed the bee?

:woot: got the luster neon orange belt today, sharper than what i expected! :woot:

^Cool. Pictures?

It's a pin like any other, so technically yes. But it depends on the fabric and how sharp your eye is. ;) I kinda doubt you'd want to put it on your jeans; it'd probably look silly.

Ok! Well, i don't mean usual raw denims exactly. But the pin is as small/large as every "other" pin right?

Yes, it's not very big. What jeans would you want to wear it on? I can imagine it on the Luster waxed jeans and pants or maybe the Strip destroyed jeans. I only wear mine if I'm wearing a very Luster or Strip-like outfit. Otherwise, it looks kinda ridiculous.

Here are some runway pics w/ the pin...

Well you asked about the size, so...

s/s 06 has a lot of crappy over priced jackets.
those nylon baseball jackets are like 98,000 yen or $950.
that's outragious. the fabric is sh*t.

I saw it in Saks, Alex. I didn't like it at all. The zippers looked really crappy, and the fabric didn't look that good either.

Nothing against a good old army surplus jacket, but I really CANNOT stand any further interpretations at Dior Homme anymore, this is getting lousy and tired with every new season, from these pictures I can hardly tell if it is indeed Dior or something less expensive, such as A.P.C. or even H&M, I don't think this is speaking well for the product itself. For me, the best ones have to be those from Follow Me, anyway.

I dislike Dior's new collections but I have to give him credit for at least being interesting. I love YSL too, but indeed they are designing as if they are afraid to take some risks.
