I believe the lapel finish is maybe done by hand, it atleast looks that way. In my opinion it doesn't look cheap at.

^^ I think they're not so much talking about the lapel finish rather than how the fabric visibly 'bunches' up and wrinkles at points there and at even the shoulder and arm seams. I have to agree it's quite off-putting.

Though LVR never had good photos in the first place...

Oh sorry ^^
i THINK that the VOtC ones were bewteen 400 and 500 USD (i paid 410 EUR for mines, not on a shop though)
The FW 05 ones (which hasn't got stripes) were something like 450 EUR too, can't remember I'd have to find the tag
Again these are approximations I'm not very good at remembering prices
I would seriously hope the VOTC cords didn't retail for $500.

And the F/W 05 you're talking about are stripeless because they aren't cords. They were distressed velvet or whatever you call it. And they were under $500. The actual cords from F/W 05 were in the low $300 range.

Harryx, if you're not going to wear the stuff, there's no point in having it. Sell...

Welcome back Alex! Been a while!

I have to agree with Alex on this one Haris. I too once was a DH collector but I smartened up. What's the use in having an arm pouch you'll never wear, a corsage you wear once and fear losing it at a club, arm warmers that don't function as well as gloves, a sling scarf that doesn't keep you warm, and things like that? Sell them to someone who WILL get some use out of them (or thinks they will....)

I'm at the point where I wear just about everything in my closet. If I think really hard, I may be able to push a couple more things out (albeit reluctantly), but it's pretty much all wearable at this point.

Well, you are right. I sold a Strip shiny blazer with a broken heart, as I would never actually wear it, however I always wanted to keep it, just for "the collection". The same thing goes with the corsage. But yes, I am ready to sell I think...
Albert why did you sell the Luster coat though??? And have you sold the napoleon?

Also, there are some items that you just appreciate them for their design, innovation, even if they are "unwearable". What do you do with those?

I sold both of those (along with many many other pieces). The Luster coat was never really a piece that I was crazy about. The drape was unusual and frankly I just never really deep down felt like it FIT well. Not in terms of construction, but just the way it sat on my body. I like my outerwear to be sleek and that Luster coat wasn't in the way that I thought it would be.

I also sold the napoleon (I've actually sold 2 in the last year) because it was a little too over the top for me. Don't get me wrong, I love different/unusual clothes, but that napoleon ended up being too busy looking and attention grabbing not in a "wow that guy is wearing really well tailored clothes that are creative" but more in a "wow that guy is wearing a Michael Jackson-esque jacket" sort of way. Something I was not looking for.

As I pared down my DH collection, my personal style became clearer. I'm all about the subtleties and the "classic with a twist". My most recent purchase has been a Kris Van Assche polo that is similar to the polos from the Red collection where the front button placket extends down to the stomach and the KVA polo's collar has a full 360 degree twist in the back. It's just right.

I liken the whole process to an appreciation for art. There's the mainstream generally palatable art that's relatively generic but pleasing to all. As you delve further and further into the realm, you begin to appreciate execution and techniques; the little things that are easily invisible to others.

It's like why there's a difference between a Fruit of the Loom white t-shirt and say an American Apparel one. It's all in the cut, slight differences make one look and fit better than the other. Your average guy wouldn't care. A white tee is a white tee but those that that pay attention to these (admittedly potentially) esoteric details will go for the one that has shoulder seams that sit flush on their shoulders, a slimmer cut through the torso, and is crafted of softer cotton. All those little things.

In the end, keeping stuff just to collect is a waste of money. Hell, even Elton and Dave are dumping stuff!

Sell the corsage. Put the money towards something you'll truly actually wear. After you put the corsage in the mail, you won't regret it.

I sell them. I've owned just about everything noteworthy in the DH realm at one point or another and I've sold 95% of the stuff that people are crazy over. Hell, I even owned the mystery gun bag from Luster before. It's cool, but I don't have the kind of money to tie up with stuff that just sits in my closet. I collect, but with intentions to wear you know?

You are so right...I need to reconsider my policy, I have been keeping so many items that I never use, only with the intention of wearing or not being destroyed by the use.

You know also, items like the Napoleon are really powerful, if you dont wear them very often. I mean you could have like a small number of really impressive pieces just for the days you want to make an impression or feel different.

Dior FW 06 available in London now, some of the jumper are very nice, especially the leather bagB) !! but i don't really like those jeans...

I agree... it's just not for me hehe

I like to think my wardrobe is a bit different than everyone else's. On a daily basis I wear stuff that isn't like everyone else.

Is there anything wrong with these jeans on eLuxury? It seems really cheap for Dior, (obviously they're real), but are they one of those items that are supposed to lure buyers in who don't want to pay very much? Or are they just really basic?

Thoughts?

The jeans are cheap because they're raw denim. They don't require expensive hand-done distressing or special treatments, and the fabric is relatively cheap. Like you mentionned, they're just basic.

Are any of the jackets avaliable? I'm especially intersted in the "New Look" jacket.

I'm going to London 10th of july- 16th of july.í'm looking for a pair of dior homme jeans. Haven't decided which ones yet. But will there be any available in London at that time? or should i a pair of luisaviaroma now?
thanks for any help:)

i saw 2 jeans from Dior FW 06, one is basic raw denim, leg opening is about 19cm / size 28, and the other one, black with some treatment like waxed, tight cutting.

they don't have many jacket by now but i think they will have more next month.

I need some help with my Dior luster jeans....
As you can see in the photo, the crotch area is now way too damaged to wear it in public. It just happened this afternoon  and I'm thinking of taking it to my cleaners on monday and ask them to stitch it up, but I'd like to ask first if anybody has a better idea to resolve this problem. Anybody?
