ok here is a mini report on what i previewed at the Paris store (i say preview cause they will pull off all the new stuff during sales month next week). overall some pretty nice items.

nicest of all, the wool jackets. long ones have really nice fabric, thin yet stiff and rugged, the silouhette is maintained and should prove durable. i tried on the wool drap jacket with belt and fell in love with it (although it wasnt my size), closing mechanism is a little odd (metallic clamps) but i love the fact that it is basically a black wool version of the short trench with added front details. the short jackets were a little bit less interesting (considering the price tag) although i peeped a pretty elegant one with front button down lapels similar to the new long trench..

also some really nice leather jackets (of course), standing out was a model with a blazer type front collar.

on to footwear... very elegant dress shoes. although the scan i posted earlier had left me unimpressed, seeing them in real life changed my mind. In particular the pointy lace ups with mini cuban heel,as seen in every pic on luisaviaroma models, they are definitely the new must haves this season with a special mark for the patent leather ones (although i usually HATE patent leather). on a down note, i thought the sneakers were horrid, especially the gimmicky buckle strap ones.

finally jeans, i saw what i think is the new 17cm raw denim. it is in a much thinner fabric, which is less nice imo, but i guess much more confortable for jeans that will probably feel skin tight. also another new raw denim, this time with a high waist (or rather high rear if that makes any sense), interesting detail is the placement of black buttons around the belt line, perhaps for a new suspender accessoire, although probably just aesthetic (like the many useless buttons on this seasons jackets).

i will pass on the t-shirts and hoodies as they look worst than ever (who buys that crap anyways right? :p ).

Thank you for the report Izreal, I'm dying to see the collection myself.
I'm planning a trip to Paris this summer and I want to get there as soon as the collection is avaliable. When should I go?
I know I've asked before but the matter is quite urgent since ticket prices only get more expensive by waiting.

As you can see in the photo, the crotch area is now way too damaged to wear it in public. It just happened this afternoon  and I'm thinking of taking it to my cleaners on monday and ask them to stitch it up, but I'd like to ask first if anybody has a better idea to resolve this problem. Anybody?

As with all holes on jeans the most important thing is to spot them early. Once you do take them to a good tailor and he/she will probably have no problem with stitching the small hole so it won't be noticable.

Yes I'm regretting that I left it alone when the holes were becoming noticable. I've seen candid photographs from various men's fashion magazines of (French) guys wearing them where holes were clearly visible around the crotch area, so I also left it alone thinking it's okay. Big mistake..., now it's not a simple hole(s) Thanks anyways.

It's a shame about the jeans, they're really beautiful. There's a service in NY that'll fix your jeans by resewing denim to fix the holes (not using a patch) and they charge by square inch. Haven't used them yet but I'm thinking about sending my old Cloak jeans there. Hope this helps!

just wondering what are the difference between the s/s 05
wrinkled process black jeans.
one is all cotton, the other one 33% cotton, 67% polyester.
any info?

Hi, there's three different 'wrinkle processed' jeans with s/s 05, the ones you mention (ie, the the pure cotton and the poly cotton) and there was also one done in denim (picture from ebay).

thanx for the reply,
but what i really want to know, is which one is softer/lighter.
and other info that might make a difference in the jeans.
there's a third one...?

I own all three of them. The third, as I said, is basically black jeans with the wrinkle processed treatment. The softest of three, and my favorite, is the pure cotton. But you have to be careful with cleaning it because the color fades and it's the kind of fabric that gets lines in it easily from ironing (I've had mine professionally cleaned just once and I got fading and lines). The polycotton I've had dry cleaned probably twice and they're still as good as new. The denim is obviously the thicker and rougher of the three.

Jun there is a place in los angeles, Denim Doctors who are known to be the best out there insofar as denim repairing goes. In fact, they are well-known for their "invisible patch" and ability to put some life back into the most worn out of jeans. Anyway, having seen what they have done to a pair of my levis in the past, they are certainly well worth a try, though very expensive and not to mention the extremely long waiting period (up to six or eight weeks).

i was looking through yahoo japan and saw these wool waxed pants. the description states that they are dior homme sample but i have never seen them before and was wondering if anyone could give some info on whether or not these are real. they are selling for 65000yen right now and two days left. just thought id let some dior homme lovers know if they are interested in them. thanx.

Oh god, that is so sad. :( Such a nice pair too. Aren't you able to take it back to Dior if you purchased it from there? Then again any current season replacement would not be fair at all..
If you end up taking them to denimtherapy do let us know how it goes and the cost. The pictures I saw on the site looked pretty promising!

And thanks drexl for the denimtherapy link, I never knew there was anything like that.

Yep! Somebody buy them!!!!! They're seriously so nice. This isn't a bad price for them considering people pay so much for the F/W 05 waxed denim reissues. These are for fall/winter wear only, though. Waxed cashwool=very warm, comfy, and even windresistant in the winter. ^_^

That sucks about those ripped crotch jeans. I'd be really pissed. But I also can't imagine how they could possibly get that way.

My favorite S/S 05 black jeans are the 100% cotton.

Thanks Albert :flower:

does anyone know if a way to translate yahoo japan to english exists without me asking my co-worker? help would be appreciated. those waxed wools are kinda peachy.
