Matthew, I hear what you're saying. DH as of Luster thru now is a much "younger" look than the very early collections that were very shirt-tie-jacket-suit driven. Of course those were a very natural progression of his time at YSL producing his Rive Gauche pieces. If you see those pieces by him, Solitaire and Red make a lot of sense.
I find myself thinking about buying more "timeless" pieces. When I first got into fashion at the end of high school I had the same mentality... I bought Prada Sport and Gucci... very sad stuff. Nothing logo-y, but nothing of substance at the same time. Like I think I said before, personal style is an evolution. Tastes change, people change, surroundings change and one has to match all that in their own unique way.
I've begun to find a real aversion to anything logoed at all. Even clothes that have something at the base of the neck on the outer back. Anything that is visible I just find obnoxious. Along with this deeper interest in CCP and Altieri's stuff, I find that I want the clothes to speak for themselves.
Your outfit with the Solitaire leather jacket sounds like it's pretty badass. You should post up a pic!
Faust, you do have me beat my friend hehehe. 2.5 hours is a solid one!
I decided to take a pass on that leather jacket. Better things (and more things) to spend $3k+ on, plus I"ll just wait until that other runway jacket/campaign leather jacket shows up in my size somewhere instead of throwing around that kind of money on something I consider 'second best'.
