...It also has much smaller armholes than any other of the SS06 pieces (including the Sgt. Pepper jacket, which was huge, even in a size 46). I assume the black version of the same piece (the cropped jacket) is cut similarly? I'm thinking about picking it up as well.

Also, a lot of people visiting Paris' Avenue Montaigne store dress up head to toe in Dior and it's not anymore just the Japanese, I find it rather uninteresting to look at, really.

That's so true. Almost every time I buy something at DH on Av. Montaigne, I sit next to a Japanese or Arabian lady at the cashier. They really spend big money there, once I heard an Arabian lady had to pay 25000 euros! It's so wrong to dress totally in Dior and then go to the Dior store to buy more Dior. And it's not good for me either, because SA's never help me because there are more interesting Dior clad customers. Okay, that's not 100% true but service can be very average at DH in Paris. Anyway, I think DH SS06 is quite an awful collection with some great pieces but also a lot of crap.

Well actually I was talking about women who wear Dior womenswear (still, I know women wearing DH). The Dior store on Avenue Montaigne sells everything, so handbags, womenswear, jewellery, home collection, sunglasses AND Dior Homme (not in the usual DH black style but more classic, like the rest of the store). It's like a seperate area in the store (the original -one of the first- Dior store, I believe) And whatever you buy, you're escorted to the cashier desk where you can sit and they'll notice your address etc. And you have to pay of course. So then it can happen you sit next to really rich (but non-chic) ladies, who blew their money on bags and RTW. Another Dior store in Paris is on the Rue Royale, and there is a special Dior Homme basement done in the black minimalism style as you know it from NY.

Very interesting.....yea im used to the chic black as seen in the NYC location...u say this is in the basement? The store is below the ground? Very interesting...is it a big store?

Depends on what you are after. Dior Montaigne has a better selection of suits, ties, leather goods and the real expensive pieces. DH Royale is better for sneakers and the more trendy street and evening wear.

I agree that the service at Montaigne is pretty bad, but then again if you have a defect or any problem with your clothing, they will repair it no questions asked (free of charge of course). Royale is a bit friendlier (especially anne-gaelle ) but there is a bit more pressure to purchase.

Overall the boutique SA's are fake smiling snob penguins with dollar signs in there eyes. Corner shop SA's are much cooler, but of course the selection and sizes are limited...

no...that is a myth. During sales some older stuff does pop up at Montaigne (since everything unsold from other stores gets sent back to them) , but no older than 1 or 2 prior seasons.

by the way, the royale store design is uber-cool, i think it s*#t's on DH NYC, its probably closer to the Tokyo boutique, half of the changing rooms is like a massive neo piece of art work, its worth the check out!

The 6,5cm heels are indeed carryied over, except from anything two-tone, gold or brown. The Silver one had been updated with a BLACK sole (finally...) and have a velcro tape at the side, instead of a zipper. Next season will see the Cubans coming back in grey suede which is REALLY beautiful and also some black-on-black with decoration - but prepare for a heavy pricetag on those...!

There are also some really fabulous, slightly historic-looking ankle boots in the winter collection with small buttons on the side covered in patent, much like the shoes that The Hives are wearing...

I know who you mean, he did help me a few times. I like the Rue Royale store better, because it's not so crowded with spending tourists like Av. Montaigne. And the store design is just great. But you have to know there is actually menswear on Rue Royale, because it's in the basement.
