Dior S/S 2010 : Karlie Kloss by Steven Meisel

The 2nd shot definitely looks a little forced, but I'm still liking it apart from those bloody socks.:ninja:

I hate this second shot, seems like she's trying way too hard
Not to mention the ugly socks and the hideous wedges :ninja:

Karlie Kloss' agencies should really invest in the term "overexposure." I honestly think it'll help her in the long run more, rather than just make her look like too much of a trend like it is now.
I never thought I'd say it, but I'm tired of Old-Hollywood Glamour. Or maybe I just don't like it for spring. The first shot is okay, the second could use a lot of work.

i understand what you're saying about overexposure, but i have to disagree. if anything, this explosion of karlie on covers and ads is more like the birth of a superstar model, like angela lindvall and natalia vodianova prior to.

I don't find the whole film noir thing to be very effective. It looks very kitsch and in the second shot, the lighting is very photoshopped. If the light is coming through the blinds, why is there such a strong light above her head?

Mert&Marcus did the film noir aesthetic much more effectively for Valentino Fall 2007, which this is a poor mans copy of. At least their models were smouldering women. Karlie looks like a little girl who played dress ups in this. It's all wrong.

I disagree entirely. In my opinion this is the best Dior campaign since sometime in the 90s probably, frankly the only ad I can remember seeing that was better than this (for the collections) are the exquisite von Wangenheim ones (the latest one of those dates back to 1981). And those are the best ads ever done, or at least on the top three list.

Film Noir, that Dior runway feeling, Lauren Bacall, subtle androgyne quality, soft light....I like it quite a bit.

I actually like the new shot. She looks really classic but effortless too.

It's like a slightly edgier version of something you'd see in Vogue US. That said, Karlie is definitely a future supermodel, and I do love the soft lighting.

^Totally agree.

Same here...Karlie is in it for the long run and I am enjoying every second of it.

I like the second shot way better than the first. And I actually like the sock/shoe combo

Oh and I just noticed this was shot by Meisel! What a surprise, seriously....if it were by McDean I'd believe it as well.

Oh finally, they're all out.

They all look the same. I love Karlie's stare though, it's so arresting. I'm in love with that shadow pic.

So basically, they're advertising just 2 jackets? I'm hoping there are more...

Couldn't care less. The only difference I notice is a slight change of pose

She has the same attitude in each shot... Could it be more boring ? And I really don't get this weird stare, an ad is supposed to sell, isn't it ? Personnally when I'm looking at these, I feel scared. It reminds me of an ad for a bad horror movie or something like that.
