Discussion: Who Should Be The Creative Director of Balenciaga?

Well before the allegations, I thought Tisci would be perfect and still think so as he's the perfect mixture of haute couture and streetwear. I didn't really have a problem with KJ's Dior in the beginning, but then he became extremely lazy and his Fendi was drab and dreary at best. I do not want him at Balenciaga.

As for Ralph Rucci, he's just bitter and he could be using his time to mentor the next generation instead of putting people down. Although I'd hate for him to be my mentor as he seems insufferable with that ego.

The prospect of what would likely be Kering’s choice vs. what would be a designer worthy to uphold the values of such a great name in fashion history makes up for such a divide that I can’t help but feel depressed about this succession.

I loved Olivier Theyskens early collections for Rochas, which could have very well be presented with had a Balenciaga label. It surprises me Patrick Van Ommeslaeghe of all the people that had collaborated with Raf Simons, did not score a job with a major fashion brand - What is he up to in 2025?

Not just Demna, even Nicolas Ghesquiere got his shade lol ( and ofc little Wang ). Bro rly hates anyone at Balenciaga post Thimister. His old takes on today's couture is a bit cringe, no?

He may sound bitter, but I had a look to Thimister's Balenciaga and found it excellent. So I thank you, R.Rucci!

Really, when you think that Cristóbal closed his house because, after May 68, there was no place for couture anymore, and that as of 2025 Balenciaga has become a brand of tshirts and sneakers, you have to come to the conclusion that something along the way has turned deeply wrong.
