My prediction is Blazy will be anointed by the fashion world with praise despite Chanel customers feeling very cool towards the news. The Chanel customer will see him for the Emperor in New Clothes that he really is, and it will be an total flop.
Their first mistake was thinking they don't need a star designer.
Bruno just said he's not gonna change sh*t... That's why they hired him.
While his appointment may seem ‘politically correct’ Blazy may turn out to be too docile in his new role at Chanel, far from the calibre of Karl Lagerfeld or John Galliano.
i think the context is more that he might be too safe again while they want or at least express to want to play it less safe .......i honestly think nice intentions and wording from bruno but in reality they want just another sauce on the same steak ...time will tell how much Blazy will work on improving the product (beter fabrication and raise the craft level ) i think its just PR talk and whitewashing to connect in our minds Chanel to craftsmanship and innovation in design
Some of you do have crystal balls.Menswear was a recurring source of inspiration for Chanel and maybe in hindsight, we can ask ourselves how timely and needed a house would be that puts the woman and her needs at the center of it‘s mission.
