Discussion: Who Should Be The Creative Director of Chanel?

Given how anal the management is at Chanel keeps a tight leash, no way they would take Slimane with his diva tantrums, Leena Nair is vicious
I would only refer to her as 'the HR woman' lamo
I don't care how much Chanel has made with her in place and will make in the next few years... the once chic Chanel 'The Lady of the Camellias' went from a courtesan, mistress and socialite to a common Gen Z girl boss onlyfans influencer and spending her hard earned money on these cheaply made bags and styling it with Zara made in china knitted cropped tops because she can't decide if she is hot or cold

i feel like everyone wants hedi, and are saying he will go there, but what i’m thinking is does his style really suit chanel?

Unless Hedi compromises big time (which I doubt but hey it’s Chanel) I doubt he’d get it. Unless they want to do menswear.

January 2022 she joined so not so long she is not the reason chanel made so much money its VV fashion/acc and the beauty fragrance division and plus price increases is the simple fact of big growth since KL past away.

I don’t know what’s that menswear discussion about ? Chanel never had any intention to do menswear and that has been repeated by Bruno Pavlovsky on a number of occasions. Another thing is that Heidi or any other potential CD would have to design 10 collections per year which is an absolute insanity and probably only Karl could have done that. Let’s get back on Earth :D

The money all these fashion houses made were due to global fiscal stimulus post covid. They just have different "betas" to it.
Hedi clearly made an "alpha" difference. But the HR lady did things similar to those GE style managers at Boeing: sacrificing long term prosperity for short term profit.

Their only option, let’s be honest, is Hedi. In Paris the rumor is that Jaquemus is bending backwards to get the job, but I still believe it’s an aprils fool joke. How stupid can they be? My prediction is Hedi in, chatty Bruno Out.

If Bruno Pavlovsky isn't the next one to quit.
Remember they preferred an HR lady from a very unethical laundry and ultra-processed food megacorp, over him and his 35 years inside the fashion-side of the company.
So fashion is not their priorities, cash-flows on beauty and glasses are.
I really don't think they, the shareholders and London c-suits, honestly care if it's Hedi or Simon, they just care how to assess the risks of the new CD and how to market the appointment.

Plus he kept telling that Virginie Viard would not leave, that Chanel would not do menswear, that Hedi is not option, etc etc.

So I will take any Pavlovsky's statement with a grain of salt, if you please.

Just visited Chanel's website for the first time in a while, and I'm suddenly much less excited about the prospect of anyone going to Chanel.

Open Chanel.com and you can practically hear the hundreds, the thousands of emails being typed between the legal teams of each Chanel sub-entity making sure that each line and collection is properly delineated and separated by eight clicks from all the lines and collections aimed at different demographics. Chanel can never die because Chanel isn't alive. The true art of Chanel is Chanel itself as a piece of bureaucratic performance art.
