Thank you for the reminder. I forgot about those photos of Dita without makeup. She is definitly beautifull without it and she does look so young. She has beautifull skin and it shows on these photos. (see page 60).

Glamour's Main Man

Just recently I met Gregory Arlt, the man on the speed dial of two of LA’s most glamorous women Dita Von Teese and Pamela Anderson. As a MAC make-up artist, he is on call to the rich and famous in LA and has also recently worked with Sienna Miller and Victoria Beckham. So I had to ask him for some of his insider secrets.

I was fascinated to find out what two such different women as Dita and Pamela have in common? And his answer that they were both very funny and very smart shouldn’t surprise you. But that fact that they both have an incredibly naughty sense of humour might. Pie throwing contests at midnight for Dita and a razor sharp but rude wit for Pamela.
Back to make-up, I asked Greg to empty his make-up trunk of his favourite products and let me know which famous faces he uses them on. I love the fact that he has mastered the vintage porcelain perfection of Dita and also the Playboy preened look of Pamela; he has promised me that next time he’s in town he will transform me into a centrefold complete with false lashes and glossy pink lips. Boy will he have his work cut out.
To get Dita’s look he uses:

• Mac Studio Mist Foundation £23.50, ‘I use the lightest shade on Dita to give a flawless satin skin,’
• Mac Hyper Real in Extra Light to make her skin glow.
• Mineralise Skin Finish Powder £16.
• Mac Ruby Woo Lipstick £11, ‘A must have for Dita, it’s her favourite shade.’
• Mac False Lashes 7 £7.50 and Black Track Fluid Line £10.50.

On Pamela he uses:

• Mac Face and Body £23, ‘The perfect lightweight foundation for all over, this is what I use on Pamela, Sienna Miller and Victoria Beckham.’
• Mac Smut Eyeshadow £10, in the crease of her eyelids.
• Estee Lauder Magnascopic Mascara £17, ‘Is a great mascara for mimicking false lashes.’
• Mac Margin Powder Blush £13.50, ‘The ideal universal blush shade. I use it on Minnie, Sienna, Victoria and Pamela. This is the LA glow in a pot.’
• Mac Smoulder Pencil £9, ‘This is what I use to get Sienna’s all night partying look, so I smudge it on the insides of the lids to look like she has slept in it. And keep it more defined on Pamela.’
• Mac Viva Glam V £11 topped with Morning Glory Lustre Glass £10.50.
