Yep, Dita herself has said she isn't a beauty. BUT she sure knows how to put herself together. Same thing with Marilyn Monroe: she was REALLY plain but with the platinum hair, makeup, right clothes, she was a bombshell, but a CREATED one.

there's something off about this look...I think it's the earrings combined with the coiffure AND the necklace - too "sissi" looking in my book, too overloaded.

I don't think she has a contract. I think she gets invited and never turns down an invitation.Maybe she'll set up to do a show there just so she has more reason to be seen at the party and do more of her job. Dita's livelihood is made on her showing up at parties where she knows her picture will be taken b/c otherwise she will be forgotten by the mainstream. I just think this is Hollywood and that's what you do - you're whole livelihood depends on showing up and she obviously shows up at EVERY big party she can.

New Madonna song

Okay so I listened to Madonna's new album. Sad, she'll never be what she was in th '80s and '90s. But I still HAVE to hear the new Madonna songs on principle. The song "She's Not Me" sounds just like what happened between Dita and Manson. When I heard it I thought, "Whoa, did Madonna read a tabloid? And did seeing something in a tabloid on Dita inspire a song?" I know, it's far-fetched, but that's what i immediately thought. Here are the lyrics:

That's so strange when I heard that song I thought the same. About her going to the Chopard events I think it's part of her job to go to as many high profile parties as she can even though I would not consider it a "job".
