(NEW YORK) The Daily snagged a moment with Dita Von Teese last night at a soiree celebrating her new book
The Art of the Teese, a cheeky coffee table tome showcasing her forays into burlesque and fetishism. Looking ultra-opulent in a violet crepe Zac Posen maxi-gown, the flirty fashion darling gave us the scoop on staying fabulous…
How does it feel to add “published author” to your roster?
Well, it’s hard for me to say I’m a published author. The book is such a photo book and the text is so secondary. I had a lot of help writing it—but all the makeup tips are from me! I just hope people like it, that’s all.
Any spring fashion tips?
It’s difficult for me because I love winter fashion so much. I have a hard time making the change from winter clothes to spring and summer clothes. I’m not the expert on showing a lot of skin when it comes to dressing, believe it or not—which sounds funny coming from me! But for spring, it’s about pretty little 50’s dresses nipped in at the waist, big skirts and spaghetti straps, and easy silk dresses. That to me is sexy and classic.
How do you keep a high maintenance hairstyle through the humid summer months?
Lots and lots of hairspray!
