Ive always was curious if she has met Bettie Page in person and now i know
Im not sure i like Dita's hairstyle from that interview (i remember that outfit), she looks good and its very impressive that she always makes everything by herslef, but i think she looks better in her usual (curly) hairstyle.
I really love the dark shinny dress as well. Very beautiful. The fact that Dita dresses like this all the time makes it a lifestyle to me. So I don't agree with the gimmick, but I understand the statement. It is hard not to look too costume like sometimes. But you have to admit, she's always interesting to look at.
I had a Uni professor who used to dress in the style of the 18th century. He was a real "dandy."
I never get the sense from Dita that anything's a gimmick, it's more complete dedication to her life's ambition, to really embody a modern burlesque star. It's more than just a hairstyle, it's a total way of life - her career, her clothing, her house, her outlook on things, everything comes together.
adore that last leopard-print outfit. normally i hate leopard print, imo it's quite tacky - but she carries it off so well and makes it look incredible!
