DIY fashion ideas

I'm finally ready with my DIY Givenchy studded headband tutorial
diygivenchystuddeheadband4board.jpg

What You’ll Need:
-Basic fabric covered headband
-5x 1/2″pyramid studs
-6x 5/8“spikes
-Piece of leather or leather imitation fabric
-Fabric glue or hot glue gun
-Tape measure and ruler
-Tailor chalk
-Scissors
Optional:
-Bronze spray paint
-Leather hole punch

How to Make It
1.If you want to create the ultimate Givenchy look, first spray paint your studs and spikes bronze.
2.To be sure of how much fabric you’ll need by measuring how long the band is. Mine is about 14 1/2″ (37 centimeters). The width of the fabric should be two times bigger than the width of the widest part of the headband. The width of my headband is about 1 inch (2.5 cm) so the width of fabric is 2 inches. Cut out the fabric.

3.Use the ruler and mark the center point of the fabric piece. Also draw a horizontal line and mark the places where are you going to put the studs and spikes with tailor chalk. Leave least 2 3/8“ inches (6 cm) free on the sides.
4.Now start studding. (Create holes for spikes with hole punch. I don’t have a hole punch so I used scissors.)

5. Place the fabric on the headband with the glue. Fold the extra fabric inside the headband.

i have a pair of comfortable heels which i have not worn outside even once. they look a bit tacky. they're patent and all really shiny, the heel is silver. they had a strap around the ankle but i got rid of it.
i bought them on special offer and now they're on the bottom of my closet.
do you have any ideas about refreshing them, making them more original and less stripper-style ? painting the silver heel black ? studs in the front ?
i'll be thankful for any ideas ;)
the pictures are mine

I would say... you should have left the strap on!

but anyway... think Lanvin S/S09!

+add a ribbon at the back of the shoe that would go around your ankle
+stick on either diamantes or crystals to the top half of the heel
+paint the underneath a solid colour like maroon or mustard

i removed the ankle strap because it was unflattering. my ankles aren't good. so i think there was no other option than getting rid of it :(

yeah, i'll def think about it ! i only have to find some rhinestones and a paint in right color.
so i should leave the front of the shoe blank, unchanged ?
the sole in electric blue would look good, wouldn't it ? i'm thinking YSL tribute two fall 08.

Pictures didn't show so I'll post again:

i'll try to make this burberry skirt as well !

sooo ... i put my black patent heels aside and they will have to wait for a makeover since i'm looking for proper materials, but having time and tools i did a DIY i really like - i put silver pins on my black wedges.
they had a 'wooden' part, which i painted black because it looked really bad in my opinion. i painted it with a really thin layer of black shoe paint. unfortunately, i ran out of pins so i will have to buy some more (3 sets were not enough) and DIY the other shoe.
i'm only wondering what to do with the front part of the shoe. i'd put some thin chains on it but i'm not sure. studs ? pins as well ?
also, i got another black pair of shoes i barely ever have worn and when i did, i destroyed them (sorry for the dust, it became visible in the flash). the heel is a bit too thin and it's unflattering for my legs - is there any way i can make it thicker ? wrap it with a thick material ?

oh god, if those are what you consider "stripper shoes" then you'de think 1/2 of my shoes were fit for a prostitute... i love them nonetheless.

they just look really tacky because of this thin heel. i wonder what to do with it ...

has anyone thought about taking high resolution images of fashion photography and printing it out somehow on photo paper?

i am contemplating this.

Okay, now I feel like I'm posting way too much on this thread .D

wow, that's amazing !
you're lucky you have found the same exact shape of the sunglasses
congrats !

This is the first garment I made myself and it looks pretty good.
The aim was to make something like the burberry prorsum spring 2010 collection pretty layers and stuff, but that was a bit too ambitious...

I'm going to make short sleeves, puff sleeves or shoulder pads, I do not know yet
what do you think?
