Do your shopping habits change over the summer?

I was talking about this with my friends and they all like, stop shopping for normal things over the summer months.

I felt very alone knowing that I still buy the same jeans and tops that I always do all the way through summer and I'm in a hot climate! In fact, I think I buy more because I'm bored. I've spent way too much this month. I just can't refuse the online codes especially if they're over 20%.

So ... am I alone?

During this time of the year, right in the middle of the summer, I get anxious to shop for fall.

But, early in the summer I just jump right into the sales.

I think I probably shop more than ever over the summer because I am out of school and making more money.... the combination of free time and money usually means that I buy a lot more...

I don't buy different sorts of things or have different habits, I would just say that the frequency that I shop definitely increases...

we'll see how I fare now that I have graduated though

I have no idea what to buy in Summer. My life stops once it gets hot. Everything is dead here 9 months of the year, but I wish it was more.

I hate summer and I always look bad. I tend to buy cheap things just to get by.

i'm so glad to see this thread... i feel like a woman obsessed this summer, looking forward to fall so much and shopping obsessively-- online and in the stores. ugh!

I get bored during the summer...as much fun as the sales are, I want to see new merchandise! I also buy a lot more dresses when it's hot.

I spend way more in the summer. Because i am away from school and there is nothing to do. Also because the summer items start to go on sale and winter items become available, and i love buying outerwear.

By summer, do you mean shopping for spring/summer or shopping in the summer months (i.e. for fall)?

Either way, my spending decreases dramatically for my summer wardrobe..

Winter items are more fun to buy imo because of their diversity and color palette
With this summer heat, I feel summer options are limited
And how many light colored cotton/linen skirts/dresses/tops can one person buy

I can't wait for fall. My body looks better in fall clothes (more skin covered). I bought some nice loose T's this summer, though. It's harder to get flattering summer clothes than fall clothes

I always buy more things in the summer... mainly cause I go the US, where I must spend all of my beautiful money in the even more beautiful mall. Seriously, when I move to the States I'm gonna be in trouble. I stock up on many basics in all the stores that you can't find in Europe (which makes the occasional Abercrombie sweater acceptable... but nothing with a logo). In Belgium I also go for shopping sprees... after the exams, everyone wants to indulge in the sales!
