Doc Martens revival

hey everyone. think you can help me out?
i don't know whether to get classic 1460's or these:

what do you think, maybe they're a bit trendy. and i'm a sucker for originals. but these are unique. B) if i got both i'd eventually end up favoring one anyway. i just need one pair, to last me forever.

thanks for the input! i'm currently bidding for these, they seem pretty safe, and it's hard to find 1490's (10 eyelet) on ebay. but if it gets too high.... we'll see.

I have the black patent ones, these...

These shoes were the most expensive apparel type thing I have ever bought, but hopefully they'll last a lifetime (you know, in case I still want to wear them when I'm like 90! I'd be the little old lady in my sweater and black patent Dr. Martens! )

yeah they're probably discontinued too. i googled the style number and nothing came up. i'm so disappointed. but, ebay will do that to you.

OMG yes! i'm in love with mine... had to get a new pair of 20s last year and they are almost broken-in... took way too long.

but somewhat depressing that now i see them everywhere... maybe that means i need to give mine a break??
