I remember Daphne Guinness in Secret World of Haute Couture that she'd never buy anything that was seen being worn by a celebrity.

guess they're going with the Daphne law.

This is really breathtaking, I haven't been this excited with D&G since their image change from S/S 2010, and the S/S 2012 collection. That golden dress on Zuzanna B...you can compare it to Lacroix, but oh my god, it's just so stunning.

for every Daphne are hundreds of Japanese, Russian and Middle Eastern clients willing to buy the entire collection, and they need the money. That said it is a stunnin collection!

this really looks muuuuuuch better than last season - i really like what i see so far :D

looks like they finally relented. The pieces here are stunning.

*now waiting for a disappointing Sicily-themed rtw F/W collection from them*

Such a beautiful collections thou some of them look pretty costum-ey but those are just pretty!

Some pieces look really good, that outfit on #115 looks exquisite!

Love everything Ive seen so far:D, its too bad that the collection is off limits to celebrities cause that white embrodiered gown on Alana is spectacular:heart: and I can totally see someone like Jennifer Lawrence wearing it to the Oscars.

Well, maybe I'm naive (the behind-the-scenes areas of fashion aren't something I'm very familiar with), but why, with their somewhat unstable financial situation, keeping this so far out of the public eye? It might have already been fleshed out and explained, however...I don't know. It seems pretty confusing. Couldn't they use the publicity?

It seems like there must not be too many clients because they're giving it more publicity this season than they did last season. I can't say I'm surprised.

They want it to be "clientele only." They don't invite editors to the shows (except for Anna, Grace, Franca, and maybe some others) and the only celebs they have there are the ones in their ads. I don't really understand the point of this either, because they can't just gather a list of clientele out of the blue. Their whole careers have been about ready to wear and licensing.

Giovanna Battaglia wore an Alta Moda tulle dress that was embroidered in gold thread and swarovski crystals and Lauren Santo Domingo wore a custom Alta Moda silk dress with macrame, tulle and swarovski crystals to last night's Met gala.

Should we have a separate thread for the seasonal show? Here are some of the pictures from the F/W 13.14 show in Venice.
