Giambattista Valli joins Haute Couture week

while he has unquestionable talent, the choices for invitations to show during couture week remain particularly curious. while giamb makes some of the most breathtaking frocks in fashion right now, he does not deliver the jolt of excitement that the couture needs after the departure of mr. i-love-hitler.

Ah, we'll see, we'll see. My fingers are crossed that his couture collections will pick up from where his breathtaking pret-a-porter collections left off - back in 08-09, greatly inspired by Emanuel Ungaro and therefore by Cristobal Balenciaga, collection after collection there were stunningly well-executed designs not to be seen anywhere else.
Though I always admire his quality and eye for detail, I miss his dark, unique ideas enormously. I hope he still has it in him and consumers haven't diluted his vision.
