Do's and Don'ts with Burberry

My most favourite and comfortably warm scarf is my burberry cashmere scarf. I love it!

It's also nice to wear burberry when you're wearing one solid colour. If I happen to wear all black I always dress it up with my burberry scarf. I think it looks nice and clean. :flower:

Prorsum is great, but London has some nice points... Burberry check is nice in smaller doses... and unique colors.

As you can see on my picture (avatar) i love mine too

Burberry Prorsum is lovely, there are so many colours and textures. Christopher Bailey was like a miracle to Burberry, when we all started to think that Burberry was for "old ladies" or "too boring", Bailey showed up with bright new colours and new shapes. Burberry Prorsum has grown on me, and I loved the womenswear S/S 2005

This collection was an eye-candy

^I am in love!  It's gorgeus.

Love the Burberry little jacket, does anyone knows how much it retails for?

Burberry check screams out wannabe specially if your under 30. There is so much more classic scarfs and wallets no need for that awful print, no It's not nice or classic:sick: :ninja:

Sorry I just feel so strongly about It. Burberry classic screams out chav.

Is the most unfashionable thing ever made, that has been swallowed by the working class masses.

everyone seems to be uh uh about the checks but uh uh that pattern makes my hair go golden. I do look great in my Burberry Polo so i'd be more than happy to say that's a yes.

The only real good things about Burberry are their classics so go for that

I love my burberry scarf so whats the point? I heart it hast something with the english hooligans?

Burberry, Aquaso and some other brands has become somewhat a trend with English/Italian footie fans, or so say they. It's that The Streets/Brit trash look with the polo and shaved head. Try the BBC-4 Comedy Series "Monkey Dust" - They have some characters that are etched from that stereotype.

Burberry check does not belong on a fashion forum!

I didn't think people in their right mind would wear it. Fashion people with their own style does not wear burberry scarfs! Or anything with it for that matter.

And a burberry polo???

OMG!:o

Settle down, Pucci_Mama! The Burburry plaid was no big deal and definitely not a problem originally. When it was just the lining fabric of trench coats, nobody eally had a problem with it, and I daresay that in another 15-20 years, it will fade back into being just another piece of plaid fabric. Right now, there's just a big backlash against it because it became so incredibly ubiquitous, and because it is kind of the rallying flag for a group of people who usually lay well below the fashion radar.[/b]

cigaretiquette may very well look good in the red-tan-black-and-white plaid. I know those colors suit my complexion well, and I own a shirt I made that has horizontal stripes in those colors. I don't own anything Burburry--it never appealed to me, and I think it is probably too expensive for me, anyway.

Oh yeah, and those working class people you're mocking and scorning? Believe it or not, but some of us do have a fair amount of fashion savvy, are literate, and are online right now!

I don't really care, I am expressing my views.

I don't mean that that applyes to everybody when I am meaning working-class Im reffering to so called chav's which you see SO many off in the U.K. And on average I think that they have really bad taste.

But I am sure you have good taste.

If you feel offended then sorry, but I won't be censored.

Just seeing those colours together makes me feel ill.

being censored and having any amount of couth is not the same thing. .
prior comment should not be remarked upon, not even by the easiest frown.

Burberry Prorsum is so much better, just look at the pictures I posted, Prorsum is an eye-candy.

I like them both in different ways. I like the London the same way I like to curl up on the sofa and eat toast and beans. It's comfortable and comforting in a very familiar way. It's like having a cousin I'm fond of to chat with at family functions. Having said that, I like Prorsum the same way I like my metallic blue eyeliner, because it's fresh and exciting and a little out-there.

And I honestly don't see that much of the London. Yeah, a few knock-offs here and there, but it's got nothing on Vuitton.

The Burberry Prorsum line is beautiful, no doubt about it, but I don't agree that Burberry London is as disgusting as some people here have made it out to be. I plan on getting a Burberry scarf soon now that they are at a much more reasonable price, and I think that with a solid color, such as black or a white turtleneck with a courdoroy skirt, it will look great (I'm a little bummed though, I love the pink pattern most of all and can't find it anywhere!). I do, however, think that they were horribly overdone this year, and as someone who follows fashion trends, I was pretty turned off by how much I saw it. That being said, it's a classic look when worn correctly and is excellent quality (they keep your neck completely warm but are so lightweight that they feel like nothing).

In my opinion, Burberry become one of those designer trends that everyone, including people who couldn't care less about fashion, wanted to follow. On someone who typically dresses well, knows about style, and wears it correctly, it looks chic. On someone with a mismatched outfit and this it's obvious they're just trying to look cool, it's ridiculous (that propably sounds snobbish, I don't mean it that way at all. It's just that Burberry London was completely overused this year and those were my observations). Hopefully next winter, people will wear it only when fit and not go into overkill!

I love Burberry trenches, want one in every color^_^ They are classics and almost have to be from Burberry (London). For the other stuff hmm...prorsum is a better option :)

You make an excellent point. Although I must say that it depends on the area. IN the UK and the US the Burberry plaid has become ubiquitous; however I find that it never really caught on in Montreal. That is why I don't feel like a sheep wearing my Burberry scarf.

It really only caught on with the British in Montreal... all 12 of them ^_^ :p
