Hmmm. I think I see your point, but I am not entirely sure. I don't think different aesthetics exist in harmony. Some do, and some clash. And I guess I could see a point at which Dries would not want a certain type of people wearing his clothes (let's take Paris Hilton for an extreme example). It maybe an undemocratic thing to say, but at this point I don't really believe in "the beauty is in the eye of the beholder" and "everyone has good taste, it's just different" types of thinking.

To be to sure about things leads us nowhere..;) :flower:...
No different aesthetics doesn't always lives in harmony, thank god for that, but eventhough they still create possibilities for communication and exchange, if the desire is there...
No I have never believed in those to sayings you are putting into play either, and who's to say what's good taste or not, what is beautiful or not.. but this doesn't preclude the "the desire for a world of equality and freedoom.... open and inclusive democratic global society"... which I hope and strive for in every aspect of life, also in the aesthetics...:p

fashionista-ta, Mutterlein, Softgrey... I can see I'm getting way behind here... the post are rolling while I'm... what ever it is that I'm doing..:flower:

Male menopause.... :innocent:

Ok ... baaaaaack on topic ...

I think that's gold leaf .. not candy wrappers ... I love love love the coats and well... I hate pattern ... but Dries makes me convert (and choke).

That pony skin coat is to dieeeeeeee for (well... aside the ponies that got killed for it)

I loved the (fall) collection! It's definitely wearable. Definitely chic. B)

from what i have seen it looks stuffy...sort of like something my shakespeare obssessed english prof would wear.

I can confirm it was not candy wraper, it was gold leaf, real gold leaf. I touched it, i confirm.
And there was the same gold leaf in her drink and on the food, so the critique wasnt paying too much attention..:p

thanks for the confirmation sayan...
i was told the same thing though i wasn't there myself..

nice touch with the food/drink bits...
:flower:

mmm i ADORE this collection.....
its so rich and luxurious without being excessive or overdone.....
oh its so elegant and quirky all in one.....i want almost all of it....

Too bad about his recent menswear though, it's so.....hate to say it, but way too tacky to pull off unless you look forward to getting mugged for wearing an embroidered pink blazer in public.
