this is still a bit overwhelming for me. its very pretty but so "busy" I dont know where to focus on most of this...I know there will be accent pieces I will want (maybe a scarf) I just don't see this fitting into the wardrobe of his "older" client base as easily as past collections...it seems he is moving towards more flourishment (not a bad thing, I guess) in turn he is starting to attract more "flashy" clients that will drown themselves in quite a bit of this seasons prints, just like last.

thanks for all the details...
i LOVE the BOHEMIAN VIBE to all of this..

the whole ethnic peasant thing that is what dries is all about ...
and the really lovely knits...
seems like this collection really goes back to his roots...
and 'old school' dries...

thanks for all the details...
i love it even more now..
*i thought that those were bracelets tied around the neck ...but now i am sure...
and also love the rings tied to the actual bracelets for decoration...
very creative styling!!!...as i said before- pretty much genius styling...
..

have to say though...
i think that my very favourite thing out of all of this may be the envelope clutch bag...
just so incredibly simple and chic and perfect!..
:woot:...

^, see I like the more "eastern ethnic" vibe. a softer, more subtle Dries...

the knits are the best part of the collection and the slim black dresses.

what do you mean lucky...
to me this IS eastern ethnic vibe...

this is a modern interpretation of the whole peasant/ethnic/bohemian thing..
with the jewelry and the prints and the little mongolian lamb vest...
you don't see that?...

I see my old psychedelic grateful dead concert days, which I actually liked... I cant put my finger on what bothers me exactly, its not that I dont like the prints and chiffons, they are beautiful, no question about that, but its just too dressy for me, maybe it's the way it's presented, I guess I just prefer quiet romance and subtleness to boldness and a dressier look. I also don't like all of the shapes...and I dont like the shoes at all, love the jewelry...that's very ethinc and eastern flea marketish...I'm sure when I see this at the trunk show I'll humbly be eating my words.

I do love his warmth and color that is always translated in his designs even when I don't appreciate the direction.
His pieces have an instant appeal that relate to real life and have the potential to become old friends....very human(e) design.

i love it. the styling has been done really, really well (read - what would sound wrong if described looks so right )

the colours and combinations are so lovely. it is kind of a sensory overload, but easy to see how well some of the more extravagant pieces would work paired with dark colours.
besides, i'd love to walk around feeling like a living canvas. i love seeing the crafty kind of market stall style clothes brought up to such a polished level.

the painted shoes are

Bohemian princess with a cloak of many colors...
that's what this reminds me of.

And I agree that there's a hint of old Dries here, although I think old Dries would have had better shapes and maybe some interesting tailoring to round out all the knits and chiffons....:P

The palette is just gleaming gorgeous though...i love the fragments of mosaic color against the black.

I'd think like a pair of caramel colored boots to wear with black.:innocent:

some really cute pieces on show...i'm not sure bout the necklace tho...lot's of bangles stringed together?

I was so ready to say I hate it until I saw the detailed shots. I like it very much!

There's a lot that I love and a lot that I dislike about this collection. The small, mosaic like prints are gorgeous, especially against the strong black and caramel accessories. And then the large, sparse prints against the black fabric are also fantastic. But the medium prints are pretty ugly to me, especially when seen on the pants. I strongly dislike the fur, I can see how it works with the collection, but I have a strong aversion to fur. I also do not like the jewelry, it looks a bit too arts and crafts for me.

The few knit pieces are truly divine, the open knit sweater over the chiffon skirt is my favorite look of all. And the dresses, I love the slimmer silhouette with the fuller sleeve.

Overall a good collection, but I still prefer what he's done in the past.
