These editorials aren't similar in terms of appearance, but they certainly share the same theme of painting, and both were shot by Meisel, so I feel they're still worth comparing. What I find most interesting is that the American Vogue version is much more tame. It has a lighter, more playful feel to it -- very appropriate for both the Spring season as well as the tamer, generally less avant garde nature of the publication itself. In contrast, the Vogue Italia version is edgier and grungier, definitely more suited to the Autumn season. I personally prefer the Vogue Italia, though I actually like both![]()
slightly similar, I think.
