hey all, need help! what do you think of this ring? i've never been a huge fan of solitaire settings, nor really of diamond engagement rings generally, but i'm getting engaged and i'm truly lost about what to shop for.

an acquaintance of mine has this ring (it's not a proper engagement ring, she's european so she's wearing it on her left hand). the problem i forsee if i had something like this made is how to get a wedding band around it. any thoughts?

I thought about this topic a while ago, and I honestly have no idea. I never really think about it. I understand the symbology of a wedding ring and all that, but I still don't understand why someone really needs one. Regardless, I'll start looking. As long as it's not silver.

so i do like my current setting, but my husband has kindly offered to get me a three stone past present future yipee ring.

so honestly what do you guys think? should i:

1. do nothing to my ring-- i'm actually wondering if the light on the stone will be blocked by a different setting

2. reset with 2 round side stones

3. reset with 2 pear side stones

4. reset with 2 half moon stones

5. reset with 2 trillion side stones (shown with sapphire, just imagine diamond)

HELP! Can't decide!!

or it's just going to be a princess cut diamond ring...the carat will depend on any special event in our lives
