IMHO, round-cut diamonds aren't as attractive over 2.5 carats or so...

I like the way really big diamonds look in an emerald cut:

ohhh, that's my wedding band and I absolutely love it. My ring is is this one:

it's nice because they sit really well together and are platinum so there's little maintinace.

i have my ideal engagment ring! its quite similar to this one: but more of an art deco design. it has five main diamonds and a ton of smaller ones...the only problem is what wedding band will go with it? i fear that any band is going to look stupid, and i think id rather go without.
