I know. I do think that American are very into the diamond thing, which I don't really buy It's all about De Beers' successful marketing, I guess.
My family actually owns a jewelry company (not in the States), but for some reason I am never into them. I think they are beautiful though. I think I will find a perfect diamond necklace and send them the style and have it made just for me how exciting!

Exact same thing that my husband says about DeBeers. I just adore sparkly things. Looking forward to the day the Gemesis/Apollo synthetics are available in colorless and large sizes. Now they're only doing fancy colors under 3ct. I think.

I've tried lots of different CZ imitations but haven't found one I liked yet. Then I have one pair of Moissanite stud earrings..they're okay but a bit funky-looking compared to diamonds.

A diamond necklace sounds exquisite! There's a pretty one with an oval at the Harry Winston website. I can't manage to link directly to the site tho'.

I wish I could wear necklaces but my neck is too short and or something.

I would love an antique/vintage style diamond bracelet though!

I love the simplicity of that last one.

I also love the three stone idea but with smaller side stones compared to the middle stone (which should be beautifully big but not gaudily so), something perhaps more like:

but I am not sure I prefer the "pear" side stones to round ones - I would have to see it in person, but I imagine smaller round ones might be ideal for me.
