I wish I could do a french braid or a lace braid on one side of my head but no one here has posted any instructions apart form the dreamweaver braiding ones and I dont understand them

I love the braid-as-hairband look but i am useless when it comes to hairstyling and can't get it to work on my hair! :(

wich ones are fish?
jenna-maria, i don't know how to explain it!! but i'll try. you have to start like a normal braid for 3 turns more or less, then you keep doing it like before, but you have to add a little portion of hair from the top of the head every time you twist the third portion of hair.
i don't suppose i made my point, did i?

french braiding takes practice but after a week or so of doing it everyday, I think you should be fine. I find it easiest to work with my hair straight after a shower when it has been towel dried. I start out with three small sections of hair (like I am doing a normal braid) at the top of my forehead and as petite says, I cross them over like I am doing a normal braid. However, as soon as I go into the next round of braiding (ie I have braided each section of hair across one other section) I gather slightly more hair into each section as I go along, until voila, I am done.

But like others, I cannot get fish braids. I have tried, and never succeeded.

thankyou, I understood your explanation ^_^
I tried it today, first time it did not work but I practised it, now it turns out well. Thankyou!

I find french braid so much more complicated than fish braids, wich I can do but it do not turn out well everytime :p
