oh how beautiful.....everyone..... mirra, cosette, anna, jennifer......everyone........
i had a brain wave....
and decided to photograph some of the 'collages' i do in 'real life'....
with real scissors and glue.........
but i cant seem to figure out how to get it without the glare.....
they look much better when you can see them in front of you........
but here's a few.....
lots of inspiration from stella tennant lately..... ...
adorefaith thank you so much Way to turn my night around...
Your collages are gorgeous. This is the type of sketchbook I'd ask to borrow and look at in awe of everything. Love the use of the Lisa Cant editorial, too! Beautiful.
You're most welcome adorefaith
I've been getting into it more lately too. It seems as if time ceases to exist when I'm doing one of those, or working in my sketchbook. All of a sudden a few hours will have apparently gone by and I'll feel like, hey- where'd they go?!
adorefaith, what a nice scrapbook you have! thanks for sharing...
and cosette, i tend to clutter mine too ... because there is simply too much i want to put in... you look lovely!
^sounds great cosette....
i had a similar thought too....
although i wish i had access to all the pics on real PAPER....
because i find it so much better to be able to cut and paste....doing it on the computer doesnt work as well for me.....i dont have the control and the attention to detail that i do when i can do it all by hand.....
i would love to see what you all come up with though....
a few more.....
including my own little version of 'we love you kate'....
ive just now realized how personal this seems in a way.....
images that anyone and everyone has access to....
but somehow after ive cut and pasted them all it seems like 'me' there on the page.....
vulnerable and open.....
again, sorry about the glare...
i cant seem to photograph the pages without it....
^thats divine anna....
thx for the kind words...
i tried to find a book without rings.....but here's the problem-i find the ones that are bound w/out rings are really stiff and its impossible to turn the pages over without them flipping straight back from the sheer weight......
do you know what i mean...??....
i'm getting toward the end of this book and desperately need a new one too.....
ive checked all the art supply shops and they all seem to do the same thing.....

I know what you mean... and I have the same problem unless I get one of those really big ones. The sketchbook I have now doesn't have rings, but since it's over-sized, when it opens it lies flat as if it had rings, which is quite nice. The only problem is that it's heavy... and doesn't fit into any of my bags, so I carry it... etc etc...
anna that's absolutely lovely... another I want to put on my wall... Some of these I can see in issues of Nylon!
^fantastic....
this thread has far too much beauty....
cosette, if i find a sketchbook that doesnt have this problem (and fits in a bag) i'll let you know....!
mine doesnt fit in anything either.....
