Eyeliner

I've been looking for brighter coloured eyeline pencils for ages and I just discovered a new brand - it's just called 'Make Up Store' and I think it's Swedish originally. Anyway, they have a great selection of coloured eyeliners - even larger than MAC's. I've also been really impressed by the staying power. Not cheap, though, sadly.

There's a 'make up store' here in Australia. They have a wide variety of things and their range of colours is very good. It's very arty makeup, not basic at all.

What brush does everyone use to apply mac fluidline? I bought the mac 263 brush but it's too hard to work with... since I'm a beginner what kind of brush should I use?

I use the 208 as well. I find using angled brushes much easier than pointed or flat ones.

I would like honest opinions on this look. I wore it to dinner with my grandparents (66 and 70). They told me I looked like a booger. (Booger is southern for haint or witchy-person. Not the thing that is in your nose.) Sorry the photos are blurry, my camera wasn't cooperating. Also when my grandparents saw me at dinner, I had my hair in a bun.

^Maybe you should just have tightlined your upper lash line? I actually like that look on you (save the eyeliner on the lower lash line), but grandparents can be so...yeah, you know :D

Thanks. I'm not sure what you mean by "tightlined your upper lash line" though. Do you mean make the line smaller?
I have a heck of a time when it comes to eye make up. Darn hooded eyes. It's like if I wear eyeliner and eyeshadow, you'd only see the eyeshadow right under my eyebrow. Doesn't help that my eyebrows are so blessed close to my eyeballs.

It's pretty hard to explain, but take a look at this tut: Go to 5:18

Lots of good techniques in this vid, though, and they works very well with hooded eyes too ^_^

I so wanna learn how to put eye-liner because it makes my eyes pop-out more.
Any tips for the starter?
what is the best eye-liner?

Hmmm, if we're giving honest opinions here...

Let me say that I used to wear a LOT of eyeliner in college. I look at some of my photos now and think WHAT WERE YOU DOING? Black or brown around my small eyes. Plus, I had/have blondish-reddish hair, and light skin, and it just looked all wrong.

Have you tried lining only your upper lashes with eyeliner? Maybe starting with a thin line near the nose and increasing the line as you go out? That's my favorite liner look these days, and it's very flattering. Though, I'm not sure how it would look with your shape... just experiment a little, but know that once you start lining the bottom of your eyes, you're getting into possible over-doing-it territory.

The tightlining looks like it'd be a bit uncomfortable especially for me seeing as I have sensitive eyes. However it's really effective, I think I might try it out some time ^_^

Jenna-Maria, if you have green/blue eyes, i recommend you to try brown eyeliner. It makes your eyes pop-out in a soft way, non harsh at all. I used to wear black before but brown has change my life, haha.
I usually buy the maybelline waterproof one (pencil format) and it totally works for me.

I have blonde hair and blue eyes and lightly tan skin and I use black eyeliner. I don't think it's too harsh on me, but it's because my skin is sun-kissed and not pale. I've tried brown eyeliner before, but I just love the black better. I do a thin line of black liquid liner on my top lash and a kind of a cat-eye finish. It kind of reminds me of Brigitte Bardot/1960s make u. I never use too much or put on any under my eyes! Yikes.

So I think that blondes/blue eyed girls can wear black eyeliner, as long as you keep the line thin and don't cake it on. I just think putting it under the eye is a little too much (for me).

Me too. I don't like black eyeliner on blonde girls unless it's for going out. I think it looks too harsh.

to me, this items from Bobbie Brown are the best :flower:

I have to say that I really like the Tony Moly eyeliner..I don't know if you can buy it outside East Asia but ebay maybe??

I always use eyeliner. It makes my eyes larger and dramatic. I have brown eyes that why i use black color. For me it's more comfortable to use eye marker (my recent by Cherie Ma Cherie) than liquid eyeliner.

Last week I bought 2 eyeliners - one is Lancome liner design....but I`m not sure that it`s worth buying, if you are not bad at liquid eye liners...so my second eye liner this week was Chanel Ecriture de Chanel. I love it))

The best I've ever tried:

I want to try that Bobbi Brown one!

I love Benefit Bad Girl and Lancome Kohl, though Benefit is a MAJOR bugger to get off when you come home!

I only recently started using gel liner (I've been a Revlon Colorstay Pencil girl for years) but the one I'm currently using and love is Bare Escentuals' Buxom LashLiner. Considering I've never applied gel liner, it was easy. They also claim the products has ingredients that help stimulate hair growth and strengthen new & existing lashes. I can't say for certain whether it works but if it does it'd just be an added bonus

i love lining my eyes and even though i have brown eyes i find black to be too harsh for day, especially if its gel. so i tend to use either dark purple/plum pencil or brown, or i wet a slanted liner blush and use it with eyeshadow which i think gives a softer effect.
