I don't want to open up another thread so running off this, I am planning on getting false lashes for prom, and getting my makeup professionally done. Could anyone tell me if they would put them on for me (the eyelashes) if I just brought it to the counter or should I put them on myself before getting my makeup done?
they'll do it for you, of course!

and false eyelashes should always be applied after all eye makeup is completed, so don't put them on beforehand! :flower:

Yes, how are they "harvested?"

Having finished the show and finally thrown of my (now gross and gluey) eyelashes, I have a few suggestions:

If the eyelashes don't quite fit your eye, trim them so that they don't go over the edges. It's SO uncomfortable if they're too big, plus they're much easier to put on if they fit correctly.

The self-adhesive ones are best if you have very sensitive skin. Also, the glue stings a lot if you get it in your eyes, so be careful when you put them on and rub off any extra dried glue before you get into the shower.

The lashes get really gross if you put your makeup over them, although that's ok if you don't want to keep them and reuse them. Extra glue on the lashes can also make them gross.

They look the best of you keep them as close to your actual eye as possible. As I mentioned, trimming them can also help make this easier. They should also be pretty centered on your eye (not too long on one side and too short on the other).

Some of these tips are really obvious, but I can't stress enough how important it is to trim them if they go ever the sides of your eyes even the slightest bit! It makes things SO much easier.

I tried false eye lashes ones, they felt " heavy " and gave that
feeling u get if u have something in your eye
.
Is it supposed to feel like that?
And are mac false eye lashes any good? Can u recommend a specific
one, going for the " natural " looking long eye lashes ... :flower:

i wore some last night... the individual ardell ones... the lashes themselves were too long, so i cut them... then they were like spikey and weird. so now i am out on a hunt for lashes that are either shorter (because the normal length ones go over my eyebrows, i must have a small eye.. socket or something) or are thinner so that when i cut them they won't look weird. :P

i think for clubbing though, they would be fine.

The #7's - I might wear some tonight so if I do I'll take before and after pics

Separate give a more natural result as you can place them wherever you need, but there are several kinds of false fake lashes, and there are some that can give that more natural look too.

Does the surgical glue last overnight? I love false eyelashes, but I have a hard time in a crunch. I'm thinking if I could put them on the night before might be a better deal. I just didn't know if they would stand a night of sleeping.:P

If they're too long give a trim with nail scissors - then they'll be exactly as you want them. Also trim them into individual sets/groups of eyelashes to give specific areas definition. :flower:

if you trim them, the ends will be blunt and even more unnatural!!! dont trim them.

You can get short/medium length lashes. The best way to apply strip lashes is to first curl your natrual lashes..then hold the strip and determine of the lash fits your lid, cut to size from the outside in. Evenly distribute the adhesive, let it dry of just a little which will make it tacky. You should anchor the lash at first in the middle and using a wooden orange stick (for nails) gently tap the rest into place. sometimes i'll put extra glue on the stick after lash is in place to lightly coat and seal the lash to the lip of the lid. after the adhesive is dried gently press your natrual lash and the falsie together and coat with mascara. if you use too much glue... a little slice of liquid or cake liner right over top will disguise nicely.

I am a lash specialist! I even do lash extensions that last up to 2 months, so ask any me any questions!

Hi everyone,
I thought I'd give an update on the eyelash issue

I bought a pair of MAC false eyelashes, # 7
( http://www.maccosmetics.com/templates/products/sp.tmpl?CATEGORY_ID=CATEGORY15100&PRODUCT_ID=PROD1428 )

I applied Lâncome Hypnose and then put the eyelashes on. I find it to
be too much of a hassle to put the lashes on before applying mascara.

They were really easy to put on, the glue was not sticky at all.
I had to cut out a few lashes to make them look more natural, which was
not too much of an effort either.
 my new lashes and u can't tell it's false ! ^_^

Sorry for the bad quality, but the lashes look even better face to face.

^ Looks fantastic, butterfly.

I really, really love false eyelashes. I buy mine cheap at Wal Mart , but they do the trick.

But it's strange. Some nights when I wear them, they go on without a hitch. But then other times, I can't get them to work AT ALL.

^ Thanks Erin
I share ur love for false eyelashes ! ^_^

I wanted to buy mine cheap too, but they just don't work on my eyes, maybe
it's the shape of my eyes ?
But finally found the ones that work for me :woot:
