Spread 1: It is nighttime and Karmen, Jac, and Kamila are huddled at the foot of the bunk beds, their eyes fixed frightenedly at the far wall of the room. Joshua and Rogier are crouching on the other side of the only window, cheekily holding up candles and paper-cut figurines to cast giant shadows on the wall. The shot is taken from the side, with both the insides and outsides of the room clearly seen.

Karmen wears 06 S/S Kenzo without the hat, Jac wears 08 S/S D&G, and Kamila wears 08 F/W Stella McCartney. All three are barefoot and wearing 07 S/S Loewe headpieces.

Concept: Daria is a poor miner digging for gold, pick in her hands and all. Each shot is chronological, and as the story progresses more and more gold jewelry adorns her, and at the end, she is covered in gold jewelry- necklaces, bracelets, and rings- from Cartier, Boucheron, Kenneth Jay Lane, Tiffany, Tom Binns, and Van Cleef & Arpels, among others. The photography is very overcast, with pink, orange, brown, and purple tones dominating (the shots would be taken at sundown). This would be considered a jewelry editorial.


Makeup: Daria’s face and body are covered in dirt. Her hair is very natural and grimy.
