Fendi Spy Bag

I posted something while the forums were being crazy, so my post is somewhere lost in the 268 pages of this thread! What I said was, I'm glad that the Honey color looks more attractive in real life! I'm thinking of getting one, but I was a little worried about it being too bright and scary and orange. But this color should go well with a lot of things, right?

edna...I was pleasantly surprised to find that the Honey was so much more attractive IRL. Photos of the Honey certainly do not do it any justice! The one I saw was very textured, especially on the back, which is what most Spy fan lust after.:p

I did not find the colour bright nor orangey. Perhaps it oul be described as a yellower version of the classic Chanel camel colour. The SA in S'pore told me they referred to the colour as "Mustard". When I tried on the bag, I was in an outfit of black tank top with a black/golden brown/red printed full skirt. The Honey certainly looked fabulous with the outfit as it highlighted the golden brown prints. The SA tried it on against her all black uniform and it looked great as well. So, I must concur that the bag does look great with a lot of things!! It may look more fab as the bag ages and the colour darkens slightly. If I was not so in love with the Fortuny/Hologram Spy, I would have gotten the Honey!!

Go for it girl!!!;)

I was speaking with the manager of Fendi at The Rocks in Sydney (Australia) on Wednesday and was discussing colours with him. I ended up ordering a dark chocolate Spy instead of the Cognac (they're expecting shipment Feb 27... I hope it comes!!) - but I asked him if it was called "Tobacco". He said no.. Tobacco was the shade lighter than Cognac and was literally a tobacco sort of brown. On my order form the colour says "Dark brown". I don't know if we're talking the same colours here, but I don't think "Tobacco" is the dark chocolate colour.

Hehe also he ended up giving me this huge lesson about Fendi starting off as a leather saddle maker and the cows used for the leather etc - mainly because I asked him about the Cognac colour fading etc (from what owners here have posted about). I don't know if it was just part of trying to sell me a bag, but it was rather hilarious. Little did he know, I'm already sold! I want my Spy whether he is a bad salesman or not! :p

OMG... i'm getting my spy too on the 27 from sydney.. i'm so nervous now after reading everything about the cognac.. did he say anything about the cognac and how it faded? could you give me his name so he can convince me? has anyone NOT have problems with their cognac?

Oh btw, I've managed to purchase a Fortuny/Hologram Spy from Fendi London on Sloane St. :) Was informed by the SA who served me, Margaret, that from the day of payment approval, the bag will be delivered to London from the warehouse in Italy. This will take about 5 days. Then it will be couriered to Singapore, my shipping destination, which may take another 5 days. Hopefully the bag will arrive by end of next week or so.

From the forum, I recalled several TFSers had bad experiences with Fendi Sloane St. especially with regards to their inability to deliver within the specified date. Dulcisima, if my memory serves me well :), were you one of them? Would appreciate any feedback for whether there is any cause for concern...

Also, FYI, the SAs there appear to be completely isolated from each other! The 1st time I called, I spoke to Margaret (fortunately!) who patiently informed me of the availability of the Cognac, Zucca, White. Honey and Fortuny (yeah yeah yeah!!!). The 2nd time I called, she was out to lunch and I spoke to a guy SA who flat out informed me that "...There is a very long waiting list for the Spys, Madam!.." and was simply less than keen to entertain my purchase! Hence, I ended the teleconversation with the intention of calling Margaret later. When I finally spoke to Margaret 2 hours later, she informed me that there were still 2-3 Fortuny Spys available! So..what gives with the differing attitudes of/information from SAs?!?!?

Baghag...Congrats on your spy puchase I am glad you were able to get your hands one...I did encounter an attitude problem with a couple of SAs...and the delivery dates kept fluctuating...they were telling me that it will arrive next week...but i ended up receiving it mid Sept.
Another thing i noticed some SA's arent us well informed as others...i remember calling and a Birtish SA answered me and when i asked him what colours do the bbag come in, he said " they came in many colours" and he wasnt quite sure coz they did not have the catolgue...i wasnt convinced so i called after a couple hours and then this italian SA answered me and he was well informed and told me all the colours avaliable...

Did Fendi make the squirrel spy in black with really bright colors......the leather parts are metallic gold and the squirrels were like royal blue, orange, red, and yellow? My husband had surgery yesterday and this lady came up to me with this squirrel spy. She picked up my spy and started touching it all over. She was asking me if I like mine (choc spy) and she said she loved hers.....it was $3500. It was a little strange having this lady come by and pick up my bag. I was just wondering if hers was real or not. She gave me the impression that she thought mine was fake. She even had the nerve to open mine up and look inside!

there was a squirrel spy that was black suede with the colorful embroidery and I believe it was in the $3500 range.

btw, I don't mind admirers, but I would have smacked her if she handled it without asking and looked inside -- rude!

Have you ordered in the Cognac? Are you buying it through DFS Galleria at The Rocks? The manager's name is Evan - he is who I spoke to. He is actually really nice and helpful! All of the SAs I talked to were good actually :) I wish my spy would hurry up!!!! :p Are you from Sydney?

No, this wasn't suede....it was velvet. I think hers was fake!! I should've smacked her!! She just grabbed it out of the chair...I had it sitting on a chair next to me in the hospital waiting room.

Hi all, Neimanmarcus.com has that squirrel spy in black suede up right now if you want to compare.

Yup! i'm buying it from the DFS Galleria.I live in melbourne... :blush:so i'm having it sent in.. i paid for my bag already. I rang up the SA who handles me and asked her about the discolourations and fading.. she said it doesnt happen and they've sold so many cognacs before noone has brought it back or complaint. She did say that the bags arent all the same like the dark browns might come looking almost black.. whilst some are more brown. i just told her to give me the darkest cognac of all of them :D:blush:. Cant wait till next monday!!!

omg uniq .. your bag is to die for! so gorgeous! and i love love love the color! congrats
