Fendi Spy Bag

  ...Sorry but that was quite funny...Spy in plastic bag. Perhaps the luxury houses should include bag-doms or rain coats like those of the Hermes Kellys.. Especially for the escalating prices that they are being imposed.B)

The salon where I get my hair done makes you put your bag in a plastic bag when you come in - I guess some clients threw fits when chemical hair stuff got on their bags (can't blame them really).

P.S. Bloomingdale's at Perimeter in Atlanta has the spy in honey and in white, if anyone is interested.

wow, that's wild. i would never carry my spy into a salon for that reason - chemicals everywhere!

Lyn2005...I've seen those Spy shoes IRL in the Fendi store in Singapore! They are indeed the matching shoes to the Spy.

GG...hmmm...tough choice between the Wisteria or the Silver/Gold! I would go for the Wisteria although I must really see the bag IRL 1st. The flowers bug me (i.e. my fish bone imagination ). There's a heavily embroidered B-bag (small, single buckle) which has the same flowers hanging at the bottom of the bag (there's a pic of it in the B-bag thread). I was amused to see "fish bones" hanging off the bag. The tan colour of the Wisteria is so similar to the Honey, which I am loving more & more. However, the Silver/Gold is good for those who want a metallic bag but a less bling one as it is matte metallic.

Btw, there'll be a Gold/Silver Spy too this season i.e. gold being the 1st layer/dominant colour. The reverse sibling to the Silver/Gold one currently available on NM.

Interesting. Good to know that the well-being of luxury bags are being recognised ;) ! Thanks for sharing.

Similarly my salon in S'pore, where I've spotted as many Birkins as a fellow TFSer did at the Ritz in Paris, covers all the bags with towels when the respective Owners are in the chemical section (i.e. colouring, perm etc) of the salon.^_^

Lyn2005 I beleive those shoes come in honey, cognac ( as displayed in ur post) and white.
Baghag21 did you see all three colours?

^Dulcisima...I think I saw the cognac or honey Spy sandals. They were definitely in a brown shade. As for the Honey sandals, my local SA mentioned they were available when she called to inform on the availability of a Honey Spy.

gg - I had to sleep on my thoughts on whether you should get the silver/gold or honey wisteria. I initially wanted to say "Go for the Wisteria", but that's my own biased opinion as I have fell in love with that bag since seeing the pic on style.com. But the more I look at the silver/gold, the more it appeals to me.

The color of the bags are (obviously) so different that you have to decide which color you like more and what would go well with your o/f. On one hand the silver/metallic will really stand out because of the metallicity and from looking at the Gucci F/W runway, metallics are still in. ;) You can use this bag well into the fall IMO. On the other hand, I absolutely love the wisteria because of the flowers. Although the color of the bag will allow you to use the bag for the f/w, I am not sure if the flowers will give you that versatility.

I agree with baghag that you should see the bags IRL, but it wouldn't hurt to pre-order them first if you can. You can always return them if you don't like them as oppose to going out on a witch hunt for that bag that you could have pre-ordered.

Btw, baghag mentioned the gold/silver bag (as oppose to the silver/gold) - that's probably the bag I saw in the Fendi lookbook and I did not like it at all. It was way to gold for me (too much bling on the arm I think). I didn't realize that Fendi was coming out with two versions of the metallic bag, each with the dominating silver or gold.

Thanks so much everyone... Really appreciate all the responces :flower:

I'll try to pre order both (is the tan wisteria still avalible anywhere?), but if I can't I'll stick with my silver/gold pre order.

Both colors would go great with my wardrobe, and I dont have any colors like them yet which is why it's so hard so decide. I usually dont like orangey or tan colors, but the honey is very pretty in the real life pics...

Are there any potential issues I would have to consider with the mettalic? Would the gold rub off?

gg - i was wondering that myself, whether the gold would rub off or not. i am not sure how they are getting that silver/gold two-tone effect on the bag and was wondering to myself whether that bag has fortuny leather (like the hologram bag).

Your not going to be able to tell till you get it in person. If it is the same type of metallic leather like the Marc Jacobs bags then no ( has kind of a coating on the leather). If you get it and the leather is crunchy sounding, you run the risk of it peeling. If it's very distressed and matte almost like a suede type material, you run the risk of the finish rubbing off in some spots. Had quite a few different metallic leather items over the years and this is the experence I had with them.

Thank you :flower:

hopfully it's the first type. I have a metallic balenicaga makeup bag with that coating and it's still in perfect condition so far.

As some of you already know... I really want a black Spy!!!
I'm going to Vegas and L.A. in June, so I was hoping to pick one up when I get there...
I sent an e-mail to the Fendi store at Caesars Palace, and got this answer back:

" Unfortunately the black Spy bag was sold out in all Fendi boutiques in the
U.S.A. Please let me know if you are interesting in any other color and I
will be more then glad to e-mail to you pictures.

Thank you

Darko Gagula
Store Manager "

Is this really true?? ALL sold out? Have you guys seen black in the shops lately?
We don't have Fendi here in boring Norway... :(
I was hoping that black was an easy color to get... Black is an on-going color, right??

Why not go to saks.com to purchase your black spy? They have it available and if you use SHOPMARCH in the promo code you get 10% off! :)
