The 1st one, which has that pinkish ribbon, is that the one you're referring to as the lilac-ish one? I love that one! It has a vintage look about it, like Edwardian era stuff and it's so feminine.

Yes it's beautiful! I do feel that the violet is more wearable though.. the lilac one looks like it should be placed in a glass cabinet - for display only! And yesss the desirrrre. It does seem like one of the harder bags to find. But I should take guessgirl's advice and ask the Fendi store if they can order one in.

BTW thanks for giving me the bryanboy link guessgirl! He's a pretty interesting character, shame to not have known about him before.

Yes Sue where have you been all this time! Haha, no matter! I'm so glad you like them. Dont quit hanging at Chloe forums though - we still love our paddys don't we? Actually the only reason I ended up at TFS was because PF didn't have a Fendi Spy thread.

So I went to get selfridges to look at a black spy, but I had the same problem that I mentioned earlier, about the arm holes not being very big. They also had a white wisteria which fit perfectly but the black was a much tighter fit and I could hardly fit it over my coat. Hmm, I'm a bit concerned about this because I don't want to mail order one and then find it's kind of small.

Anyone got any thoughts on this? I know someone said they stretch, but when I saw two side by side, I could see a real difference...

The handles on my spy have streched significantly since I first purchased it. It was a little snung at first but now it is completely comfirtabel to wear over my shoulder, thouhg I 99.9% of the time carry it on my forearm

hmmmmm, that's odd. in general, i think with much wear, the handles do tend to give. just don't understand why there was a substantial difference in the handles when you compared 2 unused bags side by side. can it be the leather used for each color perhaps that make it differ? sorry i am not much of a help.

mine has too. my cognac. I put stuff in it and hung it on my door handle. I didn't do it on purpose but it streched out.

The only reasoning that I can think of is that the handles are handmade and when things are handmade, they tend to not be uniform. Which is both a good and a bad thing.

yeah, i'm finding it strange. do they give indefinitely or do they reach a certain point and stop? I carry a lot of stuff in my bags, and don't want it ending up round my knees!!! If you look back on page 297 where the lovely guessgirl put all the pics up you can kind of see what I mean, some handles look quite long and then theirs the one with the red blue and black FF print and that looks small.

LiL - happy that Toronto is finally getting a healthy supply of Fendis for sale. I own the regular spy, hobo, and satchel and I love all three sizes, each serving a different purpose for me. I like the small satchel for evenings out - the regular spy and hobo size for the day (hobo for evening too sometimes). I don't carry too much around with me so the satchel is a perfect size for me; regular spy always has lots of room left over (which is good since I don't want to fill it up and make it too puffy) and the hobo too. In fact, I think volume-wise the hobo and satchel are pretty much the same, just different shape is all. The satchel is purely hand-hold and can't be worn on the shoulders at all (unless you are built the size of a little kid).

love both. there is no secret spy compartment for the small one, just a zipper.

i like my hobo more in the winter, coz if i dont have more winter coat on, my hobo seems to fall... i seem to have that problem with most shoulder bags for some reason...

color wise, what color should i get the satchel in...mm..my spy is in choco & hobo is in petro...

I own a white one, you can see it posing with my paddy 2 pages back (Page 304) on this forum. If you'd like more pics of it let me know. I haven't used it yet but it's larger than I originally thought it would be, and is pretty roomy! Bear it mind the straps aren't long enough to fit on your shoulder though.
