Was just having a lazy Sunday yesterday with having all of her albums on repeat for 20 hours and was wondering when the new album would be coming out, too. The only thing I could find are some new pictures of her performing at the Venice Family Clinic Silver Circle 2011 Gala two weeks ago:

at least i console myself with the fact that when she does come out with new material it's consistently fantastic

Good to see her performing though! As long as she's not fading into oblivion completely then i feel like there's always hope...

Yeah, the last 'news' I read was this:

As reported by Billboard.com last September, Fiona Apple's drummer/co-producer Charley Drayton told Modern Drummer magazine that the power-packing singer/songwriter had a new record slated for a spring 2011 release. Fellow singer/songwriter Michelle Branch tweeted soon after that she'd heard several of the new, "amazing" tracks. The folks at Sony Music, Apple's label, are either keeping mum or haven't been part of the conversation. "If she's got a new album, no one here has heard it," a Sony source says. Her management couldn't be reached for comment.

Fiona, Fiona... what a goddess. I feel like we've led the same life or something; that's what I call a real connection to the music.

Does anyone know ANYTHING about her upcoming album? She's back announcing little, local shows she's been performing in L.A. I feel something has to be coming. My soul hopes so anyway.

I never have, but I'm hoping that I'll get the chance to do so one day... would really really love to..

Rumor has it she will perform at Coachella this year. I hope it's true and that it means the new record is finished and ready for a release!

She'll be playing at Pitchfork's SXSW showcase this March

SXSW is right around the corner, and we've got some big news to share regarding our official showcase. It's taking place March 15 at the Central Presbyterian Church, and will feature none other than Fiona Apple. The beloved singer-songwriter hasn't played more than a handful of shows since 2007. We're beyond excited to be hosting this performance in an intimate space that only holds about 400 people.
Fiona will open the showcase at 8 p.m. Only SXSW badges and wristbands will be admitted. Stay tuned for details on the rest of the lineup.
