Flip Flops

When I was younger, my parent actually forbid me to wear flip flops. According to them, they hurt your feet, they are casual to the point of being sloppy and they make unneccesary noise. Platforms in my father's opinion ought to be thrown to the 9th level of hell. Now that I am old enough to decided what I want to wear, I still find myself shunning flip flops. I think I am going to get in trouble when I head off to college. *looks mournfully at my stillettoes*

Back to the subject at hand, I hate flip flops like those. Mainly because I drag my feet when I am not wearing heels and I'll probably break my ankle tripping over those! :yuk:

I'd only wear them to the beach because if they got stolen while I was playing in the water, I wouldn't really care.

A lot of the hoochie girls in my city wear them out to the mall, clubbing, resturants etc. I don't think the term hoochie is common in most parts of the country so FYI, hoochies are girls who wear super-short mini skirts with tight tube tops, platform slippers, fake LV pochettes, tons of eyeliner . . . you get the idea

I dunno... I have some of the J Crew platform flip flops... they are nice for lazy summer days in sweltering DC!
They are definitely better than the flip flops with kitten heels!

I totally love flip flops with kitten heels, but they have to be made just right. I bought an embossed leather pair from Banana last season and they're so comfortable. I'm not into the Steve Madden, transparent rubber version.

i like the jcrew platform ones. with certain outfits they look really nice.

like flip flops...

but don't like platform. hate platform boots also....platform anything

don't like them...reminds me of some bubblegum chewing high school girl. Very poppy. Okay, a little bit of a generalization... but a la Britney Spears

I'm not opposed to platforms at all! I have a large frame, and some of the ultra thin delicate flip flops look way worse than platforms do on me. I think it's more about how they're worn than anything else.

I went shopping today, and I had seen tons of people walking around with kitten heeled flip flops.
I was simply wondering what everyones views on them were? If you like them, what are the best things to wear them with? One of the many women I had seen today, paired them with a pair of very wide legged capri pants, and it looked a bit odd
