Looking at these ads it occured to me what's missing with GAP's womenswear--femininity. Why is their clothing and styling for women always so "butch"?

I don't agree with that. I was at Gap yesterday and was marveling at all of the pretty button-down blouses... something they've really pressed the last couple of seasons. And the dresses - some of them are pretty cute.

well...cheers to gap being able to shoot these ads in a way thats kind of flattering for their clothing, but the models do look quite awkward. chanel is awful and boring, usual and brad... i'm so sick of seeing him. karl should have kept him in chanel.

The problem is they don't showcase this style in their ads. Baggy pants and wrinkled oversize shirts might be fetching on a models but on the average woman it reads "butch".

^Mmmm...okay it depends on how you wear it. I think baggy trousers look quite nice if their paired with a nice blouse or something. It's not "butch" at all. Take these outfits for example...I think the pants look very nice and feminine. Again, how you wear it is all there is to it.
