Geek Glasses

Where did everyone get their geek glasses??? ^_^ I really want a pair but i've not been able to find any and i know American Apparel has some... where else can i buy some

Alas, you're not in the city... in NYC lower east side there's a great vintage store called fabulous fanny's that sells TONS of vintage glasses. i just bought a pair of gradient darkgreen/yellowgreen bookish, geekish ones from the 60's. maybe not so geekish, but a smaller wayfarer shape.

I got a pair of smaller black wayfarer style sunnies, popped the lenses out and got my prescription put in. The frames cost about $12 :)

well i dont need glasses but im considering doing the same with one of my wayfarer style shades...

i dont know but do u know where to buy cheap ones in London? im doin another shopping trip :innocent:

i would assume any of the big vintage shops...rokit on brick lane and absolute vintage on hanbury just off brick lane and there are a couple of other low key shops on brick lane as well....

oh thanks! yeah brick lane is always one of my number 1 destination

I sat on my eyeglasses and needed to buy cheap replacements but I didn't have the money. So I took the sunglass lense out of my Wayfarers and put in a prescription lense. :ninja:

i found some super awesome old man glasses at the thrift store the other day, but the only problem is that i can't wear them because they're prescribed. bahahahahahha. i posted a pic on my myspace.

I bought a new pair of glasses a few days ago. They're rather wide and a bit dorky. I love wearing them. They add a bit of interest to a boring t-shirt and jeans outfit.

take a hammer and smash the lenses out...thats what i did

i love wearing them with pretty dresses, its a good contrast!

my mom just got wayfarer glasses and I have to admit, they look way cool on her.

I tried them on and I looked completely stupid. Sigh.

I think they are cute. Luella ones wouldbe nice.
I tried some on while looking for new frames, but i'm not convinced they suit my face. They're a bit 'trendy'...

How do you get over not feeling a little ... silly ... when you wear them? Or having people stare at you?

my boyfriend wears them sometimes. his outfit is never obnoxious, so the glasses aren't too much. i think they're cute on him, but on some people they look ridiculous.
