General Dior Questions

As to the authenticity cards - I have a Dior (the "evening version" of the Lady Dior in black with the silver stud things) that my father picked up for me in London, bought at the Dior boutique on Sloane (sp) street (I think that is the name of the street), and it has the authenticiy cards but...... they are not stamped or marked at all by the shop!

I purchased my dior handbags straight from the boutique. The authenticity cards don't even have the stamp on the back. But it is authentic since i purchased it from the store. I guess not all stores would stamp them

This does make me feel better since mine are not stamped.

Now the only thng is that she said she bought it 2 years ago from a Sak's and the sales associate said the made the bag 4 years ago and "she knows for a fact" that no Sak's has sold one in 3 years. I'm not sure how she can mak such a statement.

I'm taking it to the boutique next week for inspection.

I have Gucci/Bulgari/YSL and Dior bag and from what i can remember - none of the authenticity cards are stamped, but i know they are authentic, cus they came from Selfridges & flagship stores in London. I also bought my daughter a Dior speedy bag last year from Ebay and it is authentic, with a authenticity card that is hand written on, the previous owner came from New York, so perhaps certain states/countries will have dates etc either handwritten or stamped on, on their cards.

The main thing i ALWAYS check for is the serial number stamped under the little flap inside the bag. I have heard that some Dior and Moschino bags don't have serial numbers, does anyone else know this for sure?

Does anyone have any good ideas about cleaning canvas? its a small mark but its annoying me so much....i read the maintenance guide but its not very helpful

Havent you seen MY BIG FAT GREEK WEDDING? The father of the bride uses WINDEX...on everything.. Windex is a glass cleaner..but works great on anything lol

I love Windex.
It does work great on everything, ok maybe not the bags

Well.. I wouldnt recommend it on a dior bag..but my boss... had one of those black leather type purses ($20-30) where if you hit it against something it gets a white streak... well she told me that she used windex on it..and it came right out. So if you see a white streak or your shoe or handbag...use WINDEX lol

Its on of the bags from the Dior Girly range, you know the canvas is really soft and i dont wanna ruin it or make it worse. Also because the fabric is pink and white i dont want to make it worse

sounds like a very difficult job!! i'd take it to a professional cleaning service, not before insuring it, and see what they can do. i think trying to clean it by yourself would be a big risk

And I was talking from my own experience... I once tried to clean a pair of beige suede shoes... they had a TINY stain and I smeared it, so when I had them cleaned professionally, it costed much more than what I would have if I hadn't touched them in first place!

I need to pass on info to someone wishing to buy a Dior blue logo saddlebag. What does she look for in terms of authenticity?

I told her about the stitching, controlla card, serial number, etc. She said that all Christian Dior bags dont have serial numbers. The ones i had do, so can someone answer this.

Does ALL Christian Dior bags come with serial numbers?

The Dior girly bags have serial numbers the blue logo ones have serial numbers but I don't think all Dior bags have them
