Givenchy Haute Couture S/S 2011 Paris

It's gorgeous, but I think it's too similar to the previous couture collection.

same here, looks just like last years haute couture minus the swan like shapes
the silouette, the look is the same as last seasons HC

Oh God, this is mind-blowing, I'm scared of how amazing will the HQ's be.

Easily the best couture collection this time :crush:

That white and yellow dress on Jiang Xiao Yi is famazing.

Damn.

Edit: Now I have to add in my opinion as I was speechless at how amazing this is. Except for the obnoxious headgear, this is true haute couture once again. I did not think it was possible for Tisci to top his last collection as that was perfection, but this is just even a little more spectacular. I love the fact Tisci did not make it so obvious that he was inspired by Asian culture, but yet you can feel the inspiration still. The cuts are gorgeous, the materials are luxurious, the detailing .......... this photo is not even the best and you can already tell it has hours/days/months of work.

I hate to bring in Dior on this, but I have to; you don't have to go way over-the-top to make sellable and covetable haute couture garment, you just have to be focused and creative. Dior's haute couture collection was not crazy, but it was rather lazy.

Lastly, this puzzles me that Tisci can make something so beautiful, soft, particular, and elegant for haute couture, yet the menswear leaves so much to be desired. What's going on with that ? This collection redeems him from that atrocious mess (minus those boots there, they were fantastic.)

the two dressed are the far corners and the 2 dresses in the middle are giving me chill, STUN-----NING! he used techniques we've seen b4 but idk This is amazing I wish i could touch and examine this extraordinary peices...I see Givenchy is trying to gather more clientell from the booming asian luxury markets..this was no coincidence

LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS COLLECTION....I wish i were a show

looks horrible from the back.

the other day I was jogging by the givenchy house(didn't know it is located near alma), anyways... there was some couture dresses displayed in the windows. they looked very worn?

Indeed, from the last collection. Seeing them from close has been very underwhelming for me too.

I must say I actually love the headpieces, surprisingly

Considering Riccardo mentioned Japanese toy robots, it makes sense, plus melts so lovely into the whole collection.

I don't think the quality of the photo does the collection justice, but hopefully we'll get some more shots/HQs...

BLown Away by his Genius!!!:woot: Hes topped himself once again, cant wait to see the amazing details in hq:heart:

The shilouttes are something I have seen Tisci do before, but the detailing in the collection is AMAZING. This is beyond beautiful. The beautiful swan details are just to amazing. this is one of the best collections for far. When I saw the first back view I was not so sure, but now Im blown away. The collection has the subtile undertones of Asian influences with out being over bearing. Love it

Well yes, it makes sense, but they are just too big. :P

^^Well, perhaps :D

I think it was a Riccardo's element to contrapose the glory of the gowns. They're so beautiful, fragile and almost otherworldly, and then you have a huge samurai-like helmet. Couldn't get more brilliant, imo

Wow, this is beautiful. The cast fits the Origami inspired couture gowns. My favorite collection so far, and probably my favorite this season.

I'm sorry but many dresses from this collection are EXTREMELY similar to the ones presented last season
Sure those are breathtaking but I'm getting tired of sheer fabrics+feathers+embroideries
